Update: CC through 4 innings, 2 hits, 1BB, 4Ks.

Couldn't be Molina. Nah....once the calendar switched over, he became superman. I realize that now. My mistake.

Only 4 earned runs. . . another "quality start" from CC. Its sad how scared Girardi is to go to the bullpen. CC is around 118 pitches with runners in scoring position, getting hit hard, and he still wont bring anyone in.

CC was solid through 6.

Yea he was but that does you no good when he is clearly tired after 6 and you have no one for 7 and 8. Girardi was forced to keep him out there and he got rocked. Plus he barley got out of 6, that shot by Rivera was almost yard.

How does Posada get blamed for the 7th inning?

He doesn't. This was on Girardi. He was clearly running on fumes at that point.

Look, it's not that I hate Posada. The Yankees are better team with Molina, that's all. I think the combination of Posada and Molina is one of the best tandems in the game.

I'd like to see Molina get the lion's share behind the plate. Posada can DH and spell Molina. I'd love to see Molina go in as a defensive replacement when the Yankees have a lead. These are the things that cost the Yankees games.

Yanks will need a 3rd catcher if you want Molina to be subbed in each time they have a lead

Berroa. Veras. Edwar Ramirez. Jose Veras. Dave Robertson. Jonathan Albaladejo.

Just to name a few players the Yankees could get rid of.

it was pretty obvious he was running on fumes in the 7th, but I'd take a tired Sabathia over most of the crap we have out there right now. I'd put Melancon and Coke in the setup roles right now and just hope the other guys find their rhythm in middle innings.

This isn't a bad idea, but would you do a straight swap for Posada?

The Yankees best hitter right now cannot play the field, therefore the DH spot is occupied.

Alright so he didn't pitch a good game but I guess you can say it wasn't his fault because Girardi didn't trust anyone else. Sucks for CC but he's going to have to figure out how to conserve his pitch count through at least the 7th until the Yankees figure out their bullpen. On most teams you need at least 7 from your starter though. He won't succeed this year with the Yankees bullpen if he keeps pitching like this.

Wait, so when Wang is getting shelled, and Girardi leaves him for too long, that is suddenly all on Posada?

Yes. Close, but I would. To me, catcher is the most important defensive position in baseball.

With Arod coming back, there is even less importance for Posada in the lineup. With Melky swinging a hot bat, and Arod back, you can deal with one weak stick in the lineup.

No. Which is why I completely removed ALL of Wang's stats from the equation.

Girardi was in a lose, lose, bring in someone from the pen who he KNOWS wont hold it or roll the dice with CC at 115 pitches. I probably would have went with my 100 million dollar man too.

Someone explain to me why Aceves and Tomko are in the minors while Veras and Ramirez are in the majors?

Aceves did decent in his call-up last year. Tomko has a career 4.68 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP.

Either of these guys are tremendous upgrades over what we have. I wouldn't mind even giving Kennedy a shot in the bullpen. Ok...maybe that's too much...but the fact that I'm entertaining anything with Kennedy that isn't a drop kick to his face should go to show you how bad our bullpen situation is right now.

This is the poor methodology you use to prove your points. What about when Burnett runs out of gas? What about when Clagget surrendered 8 ER in a poor performance? Could that be the fault of the pitcher and not the catcher?

It really is incredible sometimes, that fans can't just chalk something up to the player not succeeding.

thats the thing, he was solid through 6. Sometimes, you just cannot go through 7.

I didn't quote the rest of your argument, because it's either idiotic, strawman, or both. However, I give you the point on salary caps. You have been consistent with this.
