It's alright' date=' we got this s*** today. :D[/quote']

Um, you better with Burnett facing the immortal Alfredo Simon.

I'd be pretty shocked if NYY don't win today.

9-2 Yanks, top of the 9th.

Burnett 5.1 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

Awesome job by the pen. 2.2 IP, zeros, 6 K

Cano, Swisher and Tex homered. Swisher is 3-5, 2 R, HR, 2B, 5 RBI.

rofl, I love how there a billion posts when the yankees were losing. Then when they scored runs everybody left.

good thing I'm a rays fan.

The offense sure is coming along well without ARod. 21 runs in 3 games aint too bad. This is gonna be a good yr if we can score, cause the pitching will come around. Good to see Burnett throwing smoke and essentially handling the O's all game long. And I bet it was refreshing for him to be pulled in the 6th with a big lead. Toronto's mgr last yr would leave him out there in those situations

Burnetts whip was 1.8 against the orioles but he did what no other yankee started could do and that was keep them in the game and actually get a K.

if ny gets this kind of effort from him they'll win their share.

burnett is the diamond in the yanks offseason if hes healthy and gives them 27-33 starts

His WHIP was 1.56 in that game, not to nitpick. But he did what he usually does. He got a ton of strikeouts and avoided the big hit. I expect that he'll eventually allow less and less hits. But this is round #1 of the young season. These pitchers have not found their peak yet. Gotta give em time.

I dont buy that,5 weeks in florida is enuff time to prep and yesterdays weather was great.

i been saying right along that the burnett move is the best move they made this offseason and i even laid the 2-1 odds on them yesterday cause baltimore has 0 starters that frighten anyone.

Well sitting behind Tampa has gotten familiar here, i hope matt garza breaks his right hand.

Anaheim could be out of focus due to the horrible accident last night.

Poor kid had 100 minor league starts and finally got the ball in the rotation, pitched a gem then f***ing dies at the hands of a dui driving a mini van of all things.

Keep that in mind over Easter, more people get crucified in the US than did at Calvary.

What a bleedin waste

Yankees up 2-0 in the 1st @ KC.

On Andy Pettitte: "This guy could easily be a #1!"

lol YES Network

Obviously that's an overstatement, but wouldn't you agree that he's not your typical number four starter?

I think that is the main point the announcers are trying to get at...

I'd give him number 3 on most teams. It's really not that much of a difference.

Eh, I agree with Coco. Somewhere flirting between a 3 or 4. Decent, but definitely not great.

I guess that's fair. The only thing I'll say is that, as a Yankee fan, I like Pettitte's chances to, at the very least, keep the Yankees in the game against most team's number two starters for instance.

Anyway, this game should be 2-0 right, but the poor defense costs them. I feel like that has the potential to be a major theme this year.

Not to get too OT, but is Pettitte better/worse than Wakefield, who you said was average to above average? Wake doesn't get 200+ IP (180 or so), but he has lower WHIPs and similar ERAs to Pettitte in the past 3 years.

I would say it's pretty close. I think what Pettitte gives you with the innings, not to mention the fact that ERA's are lower gives him the advantage.

As for today, he has looked pretty sharp, although I would guess just from watching that he has been the beneficiary of some gift calls.
