Buffalo is nice, a city full of losers who will be bereft of a sports franchise in the next 5 years when the bills move to san antonio and the sabres fold..Buffalo is like Maine with a lot of pollution and fatter women.

'morning james, getting your game face on I see.....I personally find it hard to roll into baseball after a great college hoop season but somehow I will find the stomach for it.

Something about really hating the Yankees, the idiots in the city and state who funded these new stadiumns are probably 2nd guessing themselves at this point, the money hub of the universe is hurting a lot.

I was in NY for the Big East tourney and walked into Peter Lugars at 1030pm on a Saturday without a reservation, the place wasnt empty but it wasnt full either, a true sign of the hardships facing NY.

Brother paid 28,000 in taxes just for Westchester County and he doesnt have a local fire department?

They call this place Taxachusetts but for the life of me i dont know why when all the other bordering states with the exception of NH have higher taxes and NH's property taxes are worse than ours.

America needs a solid year on Wall Street or I can see a lot more brokers hanging themselves with their Brooks Brothers underoos

Agreed. And if this Rays guy pollutes the new one with useless posts, he's banned.

Dude....You assumed that I am from Buffalo. Wrong, I am from Tampa. I have no big affiliation w/Buffalo teams. I am trying to p/u the Bills as my #2 team behind the Bucs, but they are God awful to watch.

My prediction: Shield's goes 6 & 2/3 innings w/2 earned. Rays win 4-3 Rays take 2 out of 3 from the Sox.

Done with class in about 20 minutes, got the day off of work and am going to skip class at 3:35. Going to pick up some Sam on the way home. I'm ready.

Yes Sean, is a little awkward sliding into baseball season, particularly with it still cold and gray still, but somehow we muster up the energy, eh?

Was in Boston this past weekend with my oldest, he'll be 17 Friday. I come home at 2:00 a.m. Friday, he's up playing XBox and talking with his girl and says "for my birthday, take me to the Rangers game tomorrow." You got it son...did the stubhub deal, got some nice corner loge seats, row 15, enjoyed the B's taking a tight game and watching that c*nt Avery run and hide.

Hey I said tight and c*nt in the same sentence.

Anyway, this is a great time of year, baseball starting up, the now relevant B's heading into the playoffs, the also-ran C's (this year I'm afraid that is their fate) doing their thing.

Kicking things off with a poor performance by Sabbathia was nice yesterday.

Hope all is well with you, sir. BTW, the rest of the old gang...they talking it up somewhere else? PM me if so.

Dont know where they are jim

me and chris are still playing husband and wife but Wells i figure is on a life raft in Fargo or shooting looters somewhere on the red river and i noticed the girls are still here, mark will surface like the phoenix when the times right, havent heard from Guns forever and Tom Paradis is probably stalking a ladies golf pro based on the company I seen him keep.

Nancy Lopez comes to mind for some reason.....The Rangers? God bless you,

17 yr old son?

Man you're older than Moses.

Apologies to the Tampa guy who socially climbed the ladder to Buffalo.

I wont ask why you'd move from the gold coast of Florida to the rust belt of the midwest but i see a lot of lifetime Floridians trying to get out of there these days due to the menace of elderly drivers a s*** economy and english being the 3rd language behind Patois and Spanish.

Welcome to talksox, play nice and we will get along forever and by nice you dont have to knob polish sox fans but keep it baseball related.

if you must break balls at least be creative.

You're a Bucs fan, so you at least have a little bit of redeeming value (to me at least).

Am I the only one who thinks varitek is going to have a better year? After a 2-20 start in spring training he hit the ball well. I think he had like 5 homeruns.

I think he'll have a better year. He went through his divorce last year which I'm sure affected his on-field performance and in the past few years, he's been up and down anyway, last year obviously being down.

Nope. I think he'll have a better season batting as well. All 5 of his HR's were from the left side of the plate. Sounds like he made an adjustment that worked at the end of ST.

Rays lineup isn't scaring anyone. I see a lot of .250 hitters.

If you don't think Tampa has a good lineup you're being naive. I kind of like what we have too though, so...
