David Ortiz quotes on steroids:

David Ortiz Unsure if He's Taken Steroids

Red Sox slugger, David Ortiz admits hes not 100% sure that he has ever taken steroids.

“I tell you, I don’t know too much about steroids, but I started listening about steroids when they started to bring that (expletive) up, and I started realizing and getting to know a little bit about it,” Ortiz said Sunday. “You’ve got to be careful. . . . I used to buy a protein shake in my country. I don’t do that any more because they don’t have the approval for that here, so I know that, so I’m off of buying things at the GNC back in the Dominican (Republic). But it can happen anytime, it can happen. I don’t know. I don’t know if I drank something in my youth, not knowing it.”

These comments come after Ortiz's recent comments about Barry Bonds and his supposed use of steroids(Ortiz goes to bat for Barry). Supporting Bonds, Ortiz explains that hitting a baseball is much harder than taking some steroids

“To hit the frickin’ ball, the guy makes it look easy, but it ain’t. I don’t know how you can have that swing, consistently. I don’t know how steroids can do that,” Ortiz said. “There are supposed to be guys using steroids in the game, and there’s nobody close to Barry Bonds. What’s that mean? He was using the best (expletive)? Know what I’m saying?”

No proof, but there seems to be a significant amount of circumstantial evidence.

Stupid criteria, stupid conclusion, ftw!

BTW, the David Arias picture is from earlier, like the mid-to-late 90's.

Here's 2002.

Notice the high front foot for his stride. That has totally changed, where he's pretty much set with a small stride for timing. That's a massive change in approach. Perhaps that has something to do with the better results? Nah. It's steroids, just look at the pictures with fabricated dates.

Big Papi debuted at 21. A lot of people gain bulk after age 21 very naturally. In fact most people do and the struggle is to avoid doing so

Also you'll notice his big head and wide face, which a lot of people actually use as anecdotal evidence of doping, is in fact present in his rookie card and therefore a nonfactor.

It's aged...that's all. Same as Brett.

All I'm saying is that the pics, plus the story, paint a pic of likely steroid use.

I don't buy his "I didn't know s***" schpiel any more than I buy Arod did it just in Texas. If he felt pressure to live up to his contract, and that was his reason, you think the pressure would DECREASE when he got to New York?

I have a strong feeling Posada did it, and he looks the same. So did Palmeiro. However, anyone who bulks up quickly will always be circumspect in my eyes.

That's cool and all, but until some evidence comes out about Ortiz that isn't the same article from two years ago it's all baseless conjecture.

Wow! A big fat guy that got bigger and fatter with age. There's conclusive proof for you. Most of the MLB coaches and managers must be juicing-- certainly Piniella and Lasorda. Gom stop circulating this old baseless crap and tell us more about how you make women cry by telling them that they are going to lose their homes. Now, that's entertaining.

It's totally baseless. I'm bored as all hell.

Does anyone know web design? I've gotta create a few web sites.

This cleary isnt the right spot but can you tell me how that works?

Certain parameters. No mortgage lates [which makes no sense]. It's so restrictive, it sucks. However, in a nutshell, if someone is unable to pay their mortgage, the government is basically subsidizing a decreased interest rate so that the borrower can make their payments and stay in the house.

Like anything else, banks are finding loopholes to exploit. It's pathetic.

Well, to tell you the truth, it's making me a living. I specialize in getting people's principal reduced. So if you owe 300,000 on your house, I get it decreased to say 250,000. When you calculate the interest saved on most deals, I'm saving them two to three times that amount sometimes. It's a hefty chunck of change.

Obama's plan doesn't do that, but it should. Until it does, which it won't because of the banking lobbyists, I hope to make a little money while saving the clients a ton.

Looks to me that you posted a pic saying it was 2002 when in fact it says '97 Fleer Ultra' on the card. In the future at least try and photoshop that out.
