I've gotta really question that trade between TTMV and the Caped Crusaders.

Not equal value at all, and like Gom said, since the team has gone inactive, it shouldn't go through.

Vote against

Already voted against. Not only is the trade not equal value, but TTMV has not been active. Neither him nor Shoeless should be able to trade.

Funny...everyone bitched about the Bedard deal [the one where I gave up Mauer]....and now that deal looks terrible for me.

I also couldn't GIVE Cliff Lee away...and he goes out and throws a complete game 2-hit shutout with 11Ks today. On the season, he's got a 2.86 ERA and leads my team with 21 QS. Funny how s*** works out sometimes.

I never got any offers

Your team is too good for me to trade with, lol.

Red Sox Dynasty...trade offer sent.

The trading deadline is over. Trades must be completed by tomorrow. It can't happen.

Actually, no. The deadline to COMPLETE trades is tomorrow. They review period does not count against the trade deadline. I checked the rulebook. The review period does not count with the deadline. This would be true for any date you made as the trade deadline.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

You trade Mark Teahan and Dustin Nippert for Joakim Soria and Scutaro?

Just a few days ago you traded Soria away AND THEN YOU GET HIM BACK?

So...in less than one week, you trade with your SON, and here is the net trade:

Luke Scott (Bal - OF)

Jhonny Peralta (Cle - 3B,SS)

Mark Teahan

Dustin Nippert

For

Bobby Abreu (LAA - OF)

Ryan Franklin (StL - RP)

Jon Lester (Bos - SP)

Marco Scutaro

This is outright ridiculous. You should not be allowed to collude with your son to try to win. Not when money is involved.

THE FOUR BEST PLAYERS IN THE TRADE YOU GOT. YOU GAVE UP ZERO VALUE.

I voted against both trades. I hope for the integrity of the league, that this trade gets shot down. This is the third questionable trade you've made. Two with your son, and one with a player whose team you locked.

Totally unacceptable.

Gom has a point. You did give up zero value. Something is rotten in the state of Talksox Premium 09. I voted against the trade. Wish I had voted against the other one as well.

This isn't the first time a suspect trade has happened between SFoC and his son. At the end of last year's FFB league there were a couple of suspect trades where SFoC got clear better value.

Can I sign my 5 y/o up for next year's baseball league and manage her roster?

Posted

I really don't care but when money is involved, it ruins things.

I hope everyone votes against this deal.

Personally, SFOC should be ashamed. Next year, if everyone is ok with it, I'll run the league. You all hate me anyways, so no way you have to worry about collusion.

This was my last year anyways. I was doing it for ORS, because he couldn't do it this year, but as the acting commish for 08' toke 2 1/2 months to pay out the winners prize. So go ahead GOM I hope you run it as well as the rest of the other leagues and activities you've done. Oh, and Gom I'm not ashamed, of anything. Considering the amount of s*** moves and trades you've done over the years, I don't see how you're in the position to question anything. I quess FML was trading to improve his playoff chances.

Keeper, you whiny, gutless, hypocrite have the audacity to make accusations against me.

First, you make accusations without getting the facts. Not once have you ever PM'ed me. You can say what you want about GOM but he at least asked once. Strange thing Keeper, earlier this year when I asked about a lobsided trade involving GOM, you stated " Yea it's a bit one sided, but it's not my concern. If a guy can get the better of a trade, more power to him ".

ORS, you completely blind sided me with the accusations concerning my son. That was a low blow and uncalled for. From day one, I've made it clear that he was my son ( he is a Talksox member ). This is a Fantasy Baseball Tread, not Football, if you had a problem you should have addressed then or at least in the football thread. In the four years we've been involved in Fantasy Baseball we've made 1 trade ( you guys just vetoed #2 ). This year he made 3 trades. One to Red Sox Dynesty- Ludwick for Lester, one with Longorians, and one with me: Peralta, Luke Scott, and Soria for Abreu, Lester, and Franklin. This was when his stud 3rd basemen went on the DL and he wanted more power from his OF. He asked me for the trade. I didn' want to give up Soria, and added a caviot that depending how he did, I'd want to make ma trade to get him back. My son rarely makes a trade with anyone but stays active through out the year.

Again, we've made one trade in four years.

I guess that's what you call collusion.

So I guess I should leave guys that just quit, or traded to GOM after a month or more of non activity alone. Keeper bitched about about the Wholesale Dumping with regards to Shoeless and Time To Mo Vaugh . But it's kind of funny he grabed Carlos Quentin and then tried to trade him to me. I quess its okay to put talent back in play and even out teams, as long as you benefit. GOM PM'ed me that he would pay for 26-6 if I let him in. I did, quess what neither 26-6 or Gom paid the dues. Strange, but 26-6 becomes inactive, yet GOM gets him to agreed to a one sided deal. BTW, after I adjusted the rosters to balance out the teams, I proposed a trade to Time to MO Vaugh and informed him that I had turned over total control if he would agree to stay active. He agreed. You cancelled the trade and he hasn't done any activity since.

Okay so here's what it comes down to :

I've had accusations and implications of : collusion, league manipulation, with the attempt to maximise financial return. Meaning : I'm cheating to win. Well, let's look at the facts. Well, it must be the valuable prizes. I have received 0 trophies for winning in 07', 08', must be the money then, anyone that moderately looks at my activities can tell that it's not for winning money. I could use an assortment of colorful phrases to address this situation. But I will not. I will form my own leagues. Good luck to ypu all.

Completely different. Quentin was on the DL for how long? He was waived for a reason. I picked him up months before he was able to play again. You greedily took Jair Jurrjens and Matt Kemp and hoped nobody would call you on it. That was not on the up and up, sir. And neither were these trades with your son. Who cares if I never PM'ed you? Does etiquette demand that I PM you to tell you that you're colluding with your son?

Again total mistatement of facts. Try week (s), and you didn't try tp trade him to me. The boy that talks about value of trades. You're a joke. I guess a player has value only if you picked him up from waivers. Let's see what your view of trades was :

" I'm not going to vote against it. Gom definitely makes out like a bandit here, but no one held a gun to redsoxrules' head to accept it. "

You are also retarded when it comes to Jurrjens and Kemp. There were multiple players involved. It was part of a 3 team trade. You have been here less than a year and you are going to attempt to accuse me of "colluding" with my son. I'm sorry how is there "colluding" when I don't normally trade with him and its up for the League approval.

You are an idiot ( if you are a child or an individual with a diminished mental capacity, I exempt you ).

Out of deference to Yeszir's wishes, I will not respond in kind to your ad hominem. He evidently thinks very highly of you. I'm not sure why.

All I will say is Carlos Quentin was placed on the DL on May 26 and did not play until July 20. Yes, he was out for weeks, 7 1/2 weeks to be exact. Also, how does a 3-team trade with 2 inactive owners work? Explain that to me, please. I have a diminished mental capacity, so such things are beyond my comprehension.

Fine, you don't have the capacity to communicate with. I will root on almost anyone to eliminate your further activity. Otherwise, I wish you all the best that a worthless tool is entitled to. I have spent more time and energy than you are possibly worth.

Come on SFOC...look at the facts.

You added players to your team from inactive teams, you made lopsided deals with your son...what do you want people to think?

As for my deals, this will be two consecutive seasons that I traded away the eventual AL MVP in Pedroia and Mauer. The two most lopsided deals of the year happened with you, and only one of them got rejected. I don't think people would have complained so much if these happened in the first half of the year, but not at the trade deadline. I run the other Fantasy baseball league, which is a free league, but very active in player moves. I have four people I personally know in the league, yet I've made one deal in total because I don't want people to think it's anything but fair.

When you make deals with a relative in which you get the best four players in a combined eight player deal is ridiculous.

You complained about the Utley/Jeter/Bedard for Mauer/O.Hudson. There was little doubt that the total value [if healthy] players went to me, but he had a black hole at catcher, and I was taking a risk on Bedard with his injury history. In the long run, this deal hurt me a lot because of Mauer's production at the plate in the weakest hitting position and Bedard going down with a season-ending injury [which surprised no one]. I took a chance and I lost.

Now, look at your deals...they happened in the span of 4 days, and they would have resulted in the only player of value you gave up in the first deal coming back to you.

Forget the second deal for a second. Look at the first deal:

Abreu

Franklin

Lester

for

Peralta

Scott

Soria

Let's compare the deal:

Franklin/Soria: Franklin has 30 net saves and 1.11 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. Soria has 18 net saves and a 2.33 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Considering Franklin plays for a better team, he will probably have a much bigger chance at saves. Edge: Franklin.

Abreu/Scott: This is ridiculous. Abreu is better than Scott in EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY. It's not even close.

Lester/Peralta: This is just as ridiculous. Peralta is a below average full-time infielder traded for one of the best starting pitchers in the game.

In no way, shape, or form can this deal be defended. None. Couple it with the fact that you tried to get the only player of value back in another deal four days later shows how ridiculous your position is.

You want to run this league or any other? Fine. I have no problem. As long as you're not allowed to trade with your son again. Ever. If you can't do that, then you obviously can't play unless the deck is stacked in your favor.

I move to redo the original deal involving Lester/Abreu/Franklin. If you really took the high road, reverse the deal. Try to win fair and square like the rest of us. Its obvious that without that deal, you can't.

Posted

The truth of the matter is, you don't even come close to winning on overall team talent until you picked up a bonafide closer, one of the top 10 fantasy OFers and one of the top ten fantasy starting pitchers for NOTHING.

Imagine I added those players for Fernando Rodney, Yadier Molina, and Milton Bradley. The funny thing is that those are probably the worst players on my team....AND THEY ARE BETTER THAN WHAT YOU GAVE UP.

You question my deal with FML? I gave up Guillen, who is the highest rated player in the deal. I traded away McDougall, and the reasoning is this: Over the course of this season, Rodney has had 8 net saves greater than McDougall. Guillen gives him versatility, and he might just sneak in if he continues his hot streak this week [second level of playoffs].

Don't insult anyone's intelligence that your son came to you with this deal.
