You know, this guy hasn't had much luck under the gun. Bad playoff performance and being dropped to 8th, a failed marriage in a scandalous turn of events involving a stipper and then Madonna, his obsession with Jeter...it's one thing after another""...

Luck?

Rolling into the team hotel with a 6foot transvestite with a skirt up to her navel is asking for trouble.

hanging out with madonna, a whore who blew the entire NBA allstar rosters,a chick who if had as many pricks coming out of her as went into her she'd be a porcupine, is asking for trouble..INTERUPTING THE WORLD SERIES to announce youre walking away from your team after being reduced to the 8 spot in the lineup while a 23 yr old cancer survivor closes the door on the deciding game of the W/S is asking for trouble....

This is just icing on the cake,he is despised by the ny media ny yankees and the ny fans.

how are his image consultants going to get him on his feet?

Among other things it discusses the steroids' date=' and terms of his sexuality[/quote']

There are "terms" to sexuality? Like, contractual terms?

"You know, Ted, I can't be gay for anything less than $100K a year with 5 weeks paid vacation.'

Interesting word choice.

maybe, maybe not, but bosox21's point still has merit

700hitter '' BTW, in the past, his performance has suffered when he had been the target of negative fan reaction '

I'm not going to look all that up but

let me just say that's the 1st time I heard that

if you talking home fans, I can see that maybe

Anyone actually take it look at his stats for 2003? They where actually worse then his 2002 season.

As far as this steroid issue goes, sports/baseball is a form of entertainment, seems how I have no personal connection to any of these guys, I'm not sure I really care if anyone used anymore. I think the names should come out, so that the players who didn't use don't get grouped in with the players who did.

As far as numbers and records go, it seems pitchers and hitters where using(not all, but from now on I'll lean more toward the majority was using instead of a minority of players), which seemingly would make it a level playing field.

I think Maddux is the only player I know feel comfortable saying was likely not a user. Which in turn makes his accomplishments seem that much greater. To be throwing out ERA's under 2 in the middle of the steroid era is amazing.

As far as the poll goes, I think it could go either way, he could use this as motivation, or he could crumble under the scrutiny of it all. Only time will tell.

I guess in the end we all need to remember this is entertainment, a game we are talking about here, this isn't life or death situations we are debating.

And for all the Sox fans loving every minute of this, don't forget this isn't always going to be just Yankees players. You never know who will be named next. Some of your favorite players might be outed at some point, so just remember that when taunting other people.

nice read

it was one of the best posts I have read in a long time

other than the releasing of the names I agree

as a nyy fan I can only hope

arod get's pissed off at the PC tomorrow

and finally say's F everyone..... who cares what people think

and just goes crazy on the field

no ,not crazy on the field,,

like jimmy persal on the field

as the poll asks

I guess in the end we all need to remember this is entertainment, a game we are talking about here, this isn't life or death situations we are debating.

seriously when it became clear that there were users in the game

for me, it was like finding out there was no santa claus

but I still enjoyed the gifts at xmas

the game will never be ''clean'' except it

''remember this is entertainment,''

and enjoy the show

And there is a difference of cheating on his wife with strippers or Madonna, compared to testing positive for steroids

maybe in our world there is a difference

but I'm thinking in his world

all 3 can all be filed in the file marked

'' everyone does that ''

including madona ;-)

Just look at the back pages of the ny papers when the steroid story broke.

bill madden demanding they release him?

a-hole

a roid

and this is in february....

now the yankee fan base outside the tri state area is fickle, they are the ""mile wide inch deep"" variety that has loved this team their entire lives but nobody knew it till 1996, these fans will come and go with the drop of a pin or a good 7 game losing streak in august but the real yankee fans, the guys who liived thru the ken phelps for jay buhner days have never really held tight to arod, the majoirity never were enamored with him and saw him for what he was,a mercenary who like roger clemens is awesome till it matters, these are the guys arod needs to turn around in his favor or he may yet find himself in the fetal position at bellevue sucking on a lithium lollypop.

He wants to be loved, hugged and admired by his teamates and the fans but he has constantly put himself above everything, including the game, including his country(WBC) and including his family.

the patriots suspended terry glenn before the 01 playoffs and won the superbowl

the giants lived without jeremy shockey and won the superbowl

would the yankees be a better team without arod in there?

its very possible they would inspite of his gaudy #s.

I think we could possibly be better without him. I mean he's the best player in baseball and his absence in the lineup would hurt, but if we could rid ourselves of that contract and get some quality talent in return I think it might be a good idea to explore.

lol you won't be getting rid of that contract anywhere. You will be paying out the ass for a s*** ton of it if you move him.
