So as to not clutter the Burnett or Sheets threads:

Clarifying earlier remarks, Dodgers GM Ned Colletti said CC Sabathia did not tell him he wanted to pitch for the Dodgers. Instead, what Colletti actually said was that Sabathia had made the Dodgers aware, not directly but through conversations with third parties, that he had a desire to pitch for them.

I really f***ing hate the winter meetings and all the ******** that comes out the lobby of the Bellagio hotel and casino

"CC wants to pitch for the Dodgers. CC is gonna meet with the Red Sox and Angels. CC met with the Yankees in a late night meeting. CC wont sign with anyone this week cause CC is meeting with San Fran next week"

By the end of the damn week, every single team will be linked to CC

The San Jose Mercury News passes along a rumor that CC Sabathia has declined the Yankees' six-year, $140 million offer.

Apparently, the rumor is spreading fast, and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has also picked up on it. An executive close to the CC Sabathia talks told the Andrew Baggerly of the Mercury News that the Brewers are emerging as the frontrunners for Sabathia. Dec. 9 - 4:50 pm et

You where just saying you hate all the BS that comes out of the meetings. Why would you believe this?

Unconfirmed rumor from Andrew Baggarly: Sabathia declined the Yankees' offer. He still printed it though. The Giants are expected to meet with Sabathia this weekend; they'd need to get creative to sign him

I'd hold off for something more concrete. He won't decline anything publicly yet. That would work against him in negotiations with SF. If they knew NY was out of it.

I think CC wanted to use the Yankee offer to set the bar for the market and hope a West Coast team matched or at least came close to the offer. It seems he's going to have to make the decision if the extra $20 million is worth pitching in NY, where it's clear his heart isn't into that.

I didnt say I believed it. I simply said HA! in reference to the fact that things change pretty much by the minute at these stupid meetings

Giants "Supremely Confident" they will sign Sabathia.

The word around here is that Giants officials are supremely confident that they are going to sign the big lefty, this despite the fact they are already paying all that money to Barry Zito. If Sabathia does sign with the Giants, that would dramatically change their prospects in the very-winnable N.L. West next season.

1. Tim Lincecum

2. CC Sabathia

3. Matt Cain

4. Barry Zito

5. Noah Lowrey

...very nice...now they just need a couple decent bats.

Great front three, and Tim Alderson in a couple years to replace the bag of dicks that is Barry Zito.

That said, let's wait until it's official with CC. Can't count out a late New York surge.

Rotoworld:

There is no truth to reports that free agent CC Sabathia has turned down the Yankees' offer, two sources with knowledge of the discussions told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.

It's been another rough day for the rumor mill.

Calling CC Sabathia a “fallback position,” Giants General Manager Brian Sabean denied reports that club officials met with the left-hander’s representatives on Monday.

he must have a deal in place with SF.
This is the surest, most positive news that relates to CC signing in New York. I fully expect CC to sign with the Yankees with 72 hours to one week. You have yet to be right about anything, so this would kind of complete it. Watch and see.

Thanks Jacko. Your lack of baseball knowledge didn't even take 24 hours to be proven wrong. Your claim that a deal was in place between CC and the Giants was a guarantee that he would come to New York.

Why didn't you make this claim earlier?

I think we can all safely say...that if one is to listen to you...and believe the exact opposite, we would be right over 90% of the time.

Guess you've never been happier to be wrong, huh?

But Gom, you yourself are wrong 90% ( ;) )of the time as well. You two normally fight over two choices, then it ends up being a 3rd option that neither of you consider while trying to proove the other worng.

CC agrees to join the Yankees less than 8 hours later.

You are once again proven to be an idiot.

Please explain this one to me. Anyone...my only explanation is this is what happens when you graduate at the bottom of your class in an foreign medical school.

Well' date=' he was right.[/quote']

If I made this up, you'd all laugh at me for being full of s***.

Jacko...just so you know. When they stick a stethoscope up your ass, it's not a medical rotation hazing ritual. Trust me on this one, ok?
