Interesting idea. Manny in RF in the Bronx. Its akin to the monster in Fenway since there isnt a ton of ground to cover and he does have a good arm. But if we have Damon no arm in LF and Manny no range in RF, we better have a CFer with both. This is gonna be an interesting off season.

Manny has a quick release, but he doesn't have a good arm. He can't make the throw to third. I hope the Yankees give him a 5 yr $150 million contract.

For us, the biggest thing is which Manny are you getting. Are you getting the one from the end of his Boston run or the Manny from LA who was happy and actually hustled? Seeing as NYC is huge and he grew up there, I'd have to think he'd be happy off the field, which seemed to be his biggest problem in Boston. I dont see a 5yr deal coming any time soon, either and not at 30 mil a yr. I wouldnt be surprised if he got offered a 4yr 80 mil deal, though.

Manny acted that way doen the strech run because he was gunning for a new contract. He wore out his welcome in Cleveland, had a great 2000 season and then signed with Boston. I dont see him being a model citizen, running the bases hard with whatever team signs him

Manny can be happy and content one day, and then asking for some time off in the middle of a pennant race. The dude is nuts. haven't you been following the whole Manny being Manny saga? Did you think that he left that act in Boston?

We are losing a lot of offensive production this offseason. While I'm not gonna go otu and lobby for the organization to sign Manny, I wouldn't have a problem with inserting that bat into our lineup right behind A-Rod.

I believe we have a LF for next year, Nady.

The Yankees will be in on every big free agent. Not news, but it will help drive up the price.

With Mussina all but set to retire, and Pettitte iffy, the Yankees have only two starters, both coming off injuries in Wang and Joba. Remember, if they don't bring back Pettitte and Mussina, that's an extra 27 million they can spend on pitching.
