Yankees star Joba Chamberlain's blood alcohol content was well above Nebraska's legal limit when he was busted for drunk driving, prosecutors charged Monday.

Chamberlain, who failed a Breathalyzer test when he was pulled over early Saturday in his hometown of Lincoln, registered a .134 blood alcohol level, prosecutors said.

Under Nebraska law, a driver is considered under the influence with a level of .08 or higher.

Breaking out from old thread.

Zero excuse for this.

.134? It's amazing he didn't get killed or kill anyone else.

One thing I've never tolerated are intoxicated drivers of any kind. I don't care if they end up killing themselves by hitting a tree, they deserve it for doing it in the first place. It bothers me that in driving intoxicated, they jepordize other peoples' lives on the road. It sickens me how sometimes people could disregard other people's lives and not even think of it.

I've had two close friends die from being hit by drunk drivers. I no longer have tolerance or remorse for those who continue to drink in drive. And here in Louisiana it's absolutely a joke. You can get 10 DUIs and still drive if you work the system right. An absolute joke.

Aces. And Thump' date=' they come at the end of the year, so a couple months.[/quote']

Didn't we do it after the World Series last year? I forgot. None the less, post of the year right there.

Post of the f***in' year.

Speaking of which, awards time coming soon?

I'm not the one to start them. Here's your answer:

It's good, it breaks up the offseason a bit that way. Look for some possible arcade competitions as a way to pass the time as well.

.134 isn't really that bad...

Yeah, yeah it is. Any blood alcohol level more than one drink is bad when you get into a car. If it was up to me, any MLB player who got a DUI would be out for the whole season. They should get the same penalties that regular people get, but they don't.

I still haven't won anything with my posts. :( I gotta try harder.

On the other hand, no one will ever beat my Tetris score.

Right. DUI is something that I have no tolerance for. It's stupid, people who do it are stupid, and there's no excuse for it. Cabs are cheap.

No, I agree with you that .134 is WAY too high to be even thinking about or joking around about driving a car.

In the grand scheme of things, .134 isn't too bad though. I assume I get it up there, and possibly higher sometimes while I'm here on campus.

And you save on gas that way!

And it leads to AWESOME conversations. One time I had a cabbie tell me and my buddies that he had grown big and strong drinking camel's milk. Then we all compared muscles while he was driving.

Edit: Someone is bound to make a joke about "muscles" so I'll just beat you to it.

December 16 last year. You even started the thread!

Okay then, I'm an idiot.

Anyway, I completely agree with YOTN's ideas for punishment to ballplayers with DUIs. No excuses. Just because you can hit .300 or throw heat shouldn't excuse you from the law.

If only every cabbie could be the Olympia sports guy...I wonder if he makes any other stops?

"Oh you have poop on your shoes? Don't wipe them off or anything, let's just buy you a new pair of $75 shoes while I make a stupid facial expression!"
