lol @ the "I Like Baseball" sign

Haha yeah I saw that another game, I think it was the same sign and guy.

I took so many pictures of him yesterday. Well, like 3, but still, I told him his jackets were superb.

I cant wait for friday. In hindsight I guess Im glad we didnt use papelbon. Now he is going to be 100% rested.

We have 3 days off until the ALCS, he'd be rested either way.

Manny would have been thrown out at the plate.

Even more important we were all spared the post game pseudo Abelard soliloquy from the rats who scatter when their ship is sinking. I dread that more than a loss. Crickets...crickets.

Watching the recap, and I don't think Willits can play that into a single. He had to lay out to just come up short of the ball. He didn't touch it and it hopped right into the stands. If doesn't lay out, I don't think he reaches the ball in time to stop it from getting into the stands. If, by chance he does, that ball was in the air for a bit and he's in no position to make a good throw to 2B. I think Bay ends up on 2B regardless.

I can't even fathom what Tito is doing here. He's handng the game to LAA on a silver platter.
As you know, I thought the masterful Lester should have pitched the 8th. He only had 109 pitches. When I saw Okajima, I was so angry I couldn't post. The two out walk to Texeira was a foreboding moment. Then he brings in the child, Masterson for the heart of the order. I like Masterson, but the spot called for MDC. The game gets tied and he leaves the child Masterson in to start the 9th. He gives up a lead off double and the key play comes with a man on 3rd and one out. the arrogant ass Scioscia tries a suicide squeeze. Thank God the Captain got the call. Bay gets a one out double, and the Angels were lucky that it went into the stands. Bay has been unbelievable up till now. I thought Kotsay (he's out of his slump) won the game, but he was snake bit. Lowrie squeezes a bleeder through the right side for the game winner. Wow!! The Sox only won, because Scioscia made a dumber move than Tito.

Looking forward to the ALCS. It's time for Pedroia to get hot and carry the team.

As you know

I believe TheKilo is on the record opposing the 8th inning pitching change, too. Oki did his job, pretty much. Two quick outs at that point in the game is worth the following walk. But with rightie Vlad coming up, why in the world wasn't Paps in the game? Or failing that, MDC who, uh, has been smoking people recently. Masterson is a distant 3rd best in that situation. Course, that's easy enough to say in retrospect. But this is one of those cases where we won a tight game that could easily have lost, a game that went down to the wire with the importance of every out magnified, and our best reliever never left the ben. That is messed up. 'Cause as much as Paps didn't seem like vintage Paps around the end of the regular season, postseason Paps is filthy.

Right' date=' because called differently assures the Angels of something more than a 3-2 pitch. And let's not forget how notoriously bad Kendrick gets in the field after a bad strikezone call. What a bunch of voodoo, hocus pocus nonsense.[/quote']It's not like some kid reached over and snatched away a fly out turning it into a game-winning homer for us.

By the way, Craig Seger is still just a poor man's Don Cherry...

Ok I didn't do any back reading. But does anyone else think that Francona almost cost us that game with his bullpen choices...I am not saying bring in Papelbon but Delcarmen there once Masterson struggled. And then when he brought him back out in the 9th I could not believe that choice either, and without that play with Tek getting the guy on the squeeze it might have been onto Aneheim.

Yep, he almost blundered away the game, and possibly the series.

f***ers shouldve done it game 3 lol!! Course Im just saying that because I was there. Right as I was heading out into the break room, I see Bay do a great slide at home plate... "Red Sox win 3-2" What a great win, lets carry this into the ALCS series against the Rays. 6 or full 7 games wouldnt surprise me

I like this: In the past 6 seasons (03-08), the Red Sox have made the ALCS round 4 times

Kudos to Tek making the play of the series

Great AB by Lowrie, he shouldnt have to sit in favor for Cora. He's a solid bat in the bottom of the order

Jason Bay/Jon Lester- Co- ALDS MVPs
