If the Sox lose tomorrow, the Division will go to the Rays. If the Sox win tomorrow, it will still be tough. The Sox will have to take the lead over the weekend when Tampa will be playing 4 games against the Twins who will be playing for their lives. After that the Rays finish against the Orioles and Tigers.

Well put, one way or another i want this division to get wrapped up soon so we give rest to players like lowell, etc. who are in dire need before the playoff run.

I don't know if rest will help lowell's condition. When he went on the DL with the Oblique, he already had the bad hip. The rest didn't improve the hip.

theyre 1 game out of 1st place with a 11 to play,the rays have had a shaky september and we're playing better than .600 baseball this month.

we have more home games than they do,they have the twins coming in as someone said earlier,minnesota is fighting for their lives.

they have their last 6 on the road against baltimore and detroit

we get the pleasure of the yankees here in boston,,doing the johnson reverse and having nothing to play for as well as the tribe for 4,with nothing to play for...

our battle will be up in canada this weekend,we take 2 of 3 up there and i say we win the division.

 

Any reason Francona didnt bring in paplebon in the 9th inning or is he of the mindset that last evenings game was just as meaningful as any other game??..

tampa bay is a small favorite tonight,the over under is 9 and i think the sox bitch slap these guys.

I believe that experience and a better soup to nuts pitching staff along with a few more home games gets us the division.

in the long run i think we have a better chance against anaheim in a 5 game set as opposed to the 7 game set,we are playing well now and i think the halo's have peaked,i think chicago is decent and i think tampa is a nice balanced ball club but this is our s*** to lose,we're the best team on the planet and 8ip from josh beckett last night reinforced that opinion.

This is a very important point. In a short series, Beckett, Mats and Lester stack up against anyone. Combine that with the fact that the Sox have owned the Angels in recent playoff series, I like the Sox chances BETTER in a 5 game tilt than a 7.
