Agree' date=' I also though that play by Kostopoulos after that whistle was pretty dirty too. I swear to god I thought Montreal was going come out of that with a PP, thank god the refs got it right there, because they had an atrocious game. It seems like every time we're in Montreal, every borderline call goes their way...[/quote']

I thought the exact same thing when Kostopodick did that too. He did it twice this game and luckily the refs didn't get sucked in and call a penalty when he got buried.

I've defended Blowmisarek a bit on this forum, but thought his "check" on Lucic (went for the knees) was pretty cheap...he didn't connect much so it went pretty much unnoticed, but the intent was there.

Edit: Were those the most hideous uniforms ever? The Canadiens players could not have been happy wearing those things.

"And he scores on the big goon from the ex-Milwaukee Admiral captain, who spent the year in Hamilton working on his pugilistic skills. He's dressed as a sixth defenseman for the Canadiens, but don't expect him to do anything with a stick in his hands. In fact, the uniform he's wearing right now fits perfectly because they just rearranged prison stripes on this guy."

Wonder if the B's still harbor some resentment against Randy Jones for his hit on Bergeron?

Th Flyers currently lead the NHL in PIMs per game and major penalties...could be ugly tonight.

Ryder's going to be out for a while, orbital bone surgery.

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/bruins/extras/bruins_blog/2009/02/ryder_in_surger.html

Coach Claude Julien just announced that Michael Ryder is underging surgery ''right now'', and the club will have more to say about the extent of the surgery and a projected return date later today. Ryder sustained a fractured orbital gone Thursday when high-sticked late in a game at Ottawa.

Asked if Ryder might wear a cage, or protective visor upon his return, Julien said that ''is a no-brainer.''

fack I don't get versus at school so I've been looking all over the place for tickets to the game. Just my luck, it's f***ing sold out. For the last 5 years I've had no trouble getting to tickets any time I want, so it's unfortunate that this city has to be filled with bandwagoning f***s, and corporate *******s who buy up all the seats to impress customers...

My dad has a lot of connections with premium seating, and that's even "sold out" which I find impossible.

Agreed, as much as I love our team's newfound success, I miss the days of yesteryear where you could walk up 6:30 and get a student admission ticket. Big game tonight boys, unfortunately Joe Tho is playing us at a time where we're playing very uninspired hockey, but let's see how she rides and hopefully pull out a W.

I'm hopeful that the fact that it IS Jumbo Joe's team in the building and they are the #2 team in the NHL (points-wise) that the boys will be very up for this game. It's a big test and could be exactly what the team needs to get on a bit of a streak in terms of putting together some nice efforts.

Accomodating fighters shouldn't be what keeps visors from being mandatory...

Well, unless you're a league official who knows that fans love fights.

It's no coincidence that hockey's modest resurgence was accompanied by a significant increase in fighting.

San Jose has crazy depth, I'd like to see what a 7 game series would be like with both teams healthy.

Tim Thomas had a terrible third period - sometimes a goaltender has to bail his defense out, and I've never thought TT is good enough to do that.

IOW, he's a product of the defense in front of him.
