No excuse for what Light did. I don't even understand why Crowder was ejected... he didn't do anything that doesn't happen during any other game.

3-4 game suspension for Light probably.

Is it not enough that the Patriots got off light for Spygate?

No.......

Spygate never happended. They were forced to lie. Ask that unidentified league official who fixed the game.

I have to ask: Now that he's got his feet under him is it possible that Cassel might even be as good or better than Brady?

Or that Brady was overrated to begin with?

Not saying it's true -- just that it's entirely possible. And probably true.

Wow, this shows you dont know that much about football. Seriously, sure Tom Brady had good weapons last year, and what did he do? Reset the NFL record books. Tom Brady's numbers have always been very good even when he hasnt had much talent to work with. Look what he made Deion Branch and David Givens, without Brady they have done nothing. Brady's 3 superbowl rings, 2 superbowl MVPs and regular season MVP talk for themselves. Anybody who has watched every patriots game over the last 8 years knows Tom Brady has never been overated. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the position.

*yawn*

For one, I assure you I know a great deal more than you. Second, I was just trying to get a response.

I... what?

That's about what I thought until I compared the numbers.

Nobody would actually buy it unless Cassel took us to a Superbowl but I'm not joking -- it's at least close enough at this point to ask about a comparison.

At the same level of development Brady was probably a little worse than Cassel, and Matt has much better mobility and throws well on the run to make up for Brady's greatest strengths of rapidfire decision making and accuracy.

Cassel looking frickin' good.

At what point do we look at Brady vs. Cassel and actually have to make a judgement call?

Cassel's already looking brilliant, is approaching consistency, and he's still got room to grow.

Wow are you f***ing serious

When Cassel does something that puts him on a level with hall of famers, then yes, I'm damn serious.

No matter what kind of cast you're surrounded with, 2 straight games with 400 yards throwing, each game including a rushing TD, is enormous. Brady NEVER did that. Heck, take away the rushing TD's and Brady STILL never did that.

I know that "if you cherry-pick the stats just right Cassel might just be an average NFL quarterback" is still virgin territory for a lot of die-hards, but take a second to look at what we've really got here and what the last 2 weeks might mean. It could all go to hell next week, but until it does, this is really getting interesting. Cassel carried the team this Sunday, and he all but carried them last Sunday too, if the defense could actually stop a 3rd down conversion sometimes.

I'm not even saying Cassel really is better than Brady. I'm just saying that at this point with Cassel as hot as it is it's about time to start having the conversation.

No, we don't.

That's right, I forgot. This is a forum full of Sox fans. Opinions of a player must never change based on actual performance, at least if the performance is good. If a player once sucked it must therefore follow that he will always suck. Logically. Definitely.

There's that, and then there's comparing Cassel to Brady who, as much as I hate him and feel he is a twinge overrated, is still a first ballot Hall of Fame QB.

So yes, comparing the two after two, TWO above average games is lunacy.

Are you advocating the Patriots sign Cassel and try to trade Brady to another team?

Way to avoid actually providing any validation for your argument. Yeah, good point.
