The lineup will get stronger when Cora starts getting regular playing time. He's lost a step defensively and finds himself in an 0 for 12 stretch

I fail to see how playing a career .659 OPS'er more often makes our lineup stronger?

Inning over.

A hit and run with Abreu and jeter? How many times has Girardi tried that this season? Not a good time to try something that you haven't done all season. He just helped out the pitcher with his pitch count. Girardi is terrible. Give him a 10 year contract.

This is the second time.

And there was like 10 minutes until game time and Rdsxmbnt isn't even on. I didn't steal it. If I recall correctly, if it's close to gametime and the person doing the thread isn't on, someone can take over. I believe it was you or CD who had told me this.

Dude, last year you did it on multiple occasions, even in the World Series.

Thanks! Hate The Mousse

Go Lester!

I'll check a site that logs pitch f/x data later to confirm, but according to the gameday location relative to the strikezone, Mussina has received 6 gift strikes completely off the plate. This doesn't even address the more subjective high and low strikes. This is consistent with every game I've followed of his on gameday. This f***er's "renaissance" season isn't possible without the Maddux strikezone.

Can't really blame Girardi on that one. Abreu has decent bat control, and Girardi is trying to get this team going. I have no problem with the team taking chances.

Stop whining ORS. It's beneath you. Lester's gotten some calls too, about 4 by my count on Gameday.

Seriously ORS, you're starting to sound like some *******s on this board. Each umpire has his own strike zone.

Guys, umpiring is about consistency. If he consistently calls a pitch that's borderline one way or the other, it's fine. It's when that borderline pitch is a ball on one pitch, and then a strike on the other. According to what I'm seeing, he's giving the inside pitch to righties for both sides.

With your three hitter up and your best hitter on deck it's the wrong move.

Site the batter and inning, because I just went through each, and I count one pitch off the plate called a strike to Jeter in the 3rd.

It's almost as if the Yankee fans want ARod to fail.

I'm not defending the Yankee fans, but even when he's slumping they almost always cheer him when he comes up to the plate. If they wanted him to fail I don't think they'd do that.

I mean I know they're hoping for the best outcome but it feels like they enjoy booing him, meaning they enjoy when he sucks.

I don't really want to get into the whole strikes and balls argument, especially because I pretty much agree with your points concerning it, but the strike 3 to A-Rod was outside. It would have been a walk.

Just pointing it out.

Look at the called strikes for Mussina. He's getting extra on both sides of the plate. I've seen this consistently for him this year. I'm not calling it bias for the Yankees. This is the "veteran" strikezone.

I'm sorry but I don't blame Yankee fans. He's getting 27 MILLION dollars. He needs to hit every year like he did last year to even possibly justify that contract.

His posting was as of the 3rd inning. I stopped at the 3rd inning.

Along with Josh Hamilton, Lester's success should be a bigger story than it is this year. Though Hamilton did get a nice chuck of the All-Star game directed towards his story.

Eh, I don't know. I guess some do.

Hey, you can't blame them, it's A-Rod's fault that he's not Derek Jeter.
