Really, and the Lions are kind of protected from themselves, because Michael Crabtree is a true sophomore and can't enter the draft.

I'm actually fairly certain he redshirted in 2006. Even then, though, I'm not sure if he intends to enter the draft or not.

And yeah, Stafford seems like the best choice... or maybe Andre Smith from Alabama.

I'd trade down, personally.

Thought he was a true soph. Oh well, it was a joke about their WR love anyway.

I'd actually take Stafford. I think he's got the arm and accuracy for the level, and he makes good reads. They need to focus on both lines after that, and the load of picks they got from Dallas will help there. The Dallas pick will be in the 16-19 range depending on draft position tie-breakers, and the good QBs will be gone already but there should be plenty of good line options still available. George Selvie, if he declares, may be available there. I'd look at him. If he isn't, I'd look for an OT.

f*** you Brett Favre. f*** YOU. Useless piece of s***. Why the f*** did you have to come back this year? God damn it.

dosent matter. the Pats would of missed the playoffs anyways

I think the Jets showed some people how to build a team from a shitpile. How do you take a useless and terrible team add in a terrible head coach and still win over 8 games 2 of the last 3 yrs? By building a solid O and D line. D'Brick and Mangold have been solid. Adding Jenkins to Ellis was solid as well. You gotta start over. If I were the lions, I'd deal out that #1 pick and get another #1 and get a second or third rounder. And I would start by drafting the top tackle, guard and center on the board. Build strong in the middle and you might turn it around. But it may take 5 yrs

That's not all that needs to happen.

I agree, but it's the first thing that needs to happen.

f***ing Gruden has taken what Dungy built him and turned it into mediocrity.

What? You should be more upset that the Patriots put themselves in a position to rely on another team.

Today, I've been very irritated with tons of Pats fans. "If this or this happened we'd be there, the playoff system needs to be changed, yada yada yada." All I hear is excuses. I don't hear anyone placing blame on the Patriots for not winning 12 games instead of 11. Sure, it sucks that the Broncos could get in at 9-7 or the Chargers at 8-8, but the Pats did not do enough to get into the playoffs under the way the league functions. Everyone should shut up and deal with missing the playoffs... the Patriots don't own a God-given right to make the playoffs every year.

One more thing - 16-year-old Pats fans could not be anymore annoying. They've been used to the Pats consistently making the playoffs for almost half their lives, so they automatically assume that the Pats will be there every year. They all place blame on the Jets for the Pats' failure to make it to the playoffs. ON THE JETS! I mean, seriously, what the f***? I know I'm only 18, but I started following the Patriots in a rather hardcore fashion thanks to my family at 4 and know plenty about disappointing seasons.

Goddamn. /rant

Not true - the Ravens won.

If the Ravens, Pats, and Jets all won, the Pats would win the division and the Ravens would be the WC.

The Jets needed Baltimore to lose.

I was reffering to the whole season

if the Jets would of kept pennington insted of signing Favre they would probly finished at 11-5 or 12-4 and be in first insted of the dolphins leaving the Pats still out of the playoffs

Patriots fans really have no right to complain about the Cardinals or Chargers getting in with their records when they themselves benefitted from how terrible those two divisions are. The Patriots were an 8-8 team playing a cake schedule. Besides, the Chargers destroyed the Patriots this season.
