They put a filthy running game on their side of the field. The two minute warning would have assured at least one timeout. If they go 3 and out' date=' the Bucs have a shot.[/quote']

...but they weren't going to go 3 and out. They were manhandled all night.

I think people are just trying to cherry pick s*** and place blame. If you want to blame something, blame the defense. It sucked.

If the Bucs kick deep and the Panthers manage to run out the clock, people are bitching that Gruden should have kicked onsides and given the offense a chance to go back onto the field without the defense touching the field again.

Okay? So instead of at least leaving it to chance down at the Panthers 25 or something, why go with the onside kick and seal your fate?

I think I've been hardest on the defense, personally. Gruden only pissed me off on two or three plays. The defense was horrific the entire night. I hope I've seen the last of Philip f***ing Buchanon. I doubt it, though.

Do you not have a grasp on the general strategy behind onside kicks?

Recover the ball? The kicking team actually recovers the ball .1% of the time.

Okay. What was it, 2:30 on the clock? I forget how many TOs the Bucs had left... all they would have really needed is one (though they could pull it off with zero, just rip another 30-40 seconds off the clock), assuming the defense did its job. Carolina takes the 1st run play. Two minute warning. Carolina takes the second run play. Timeout. Then Carolina takes the third run play, eats around 50 seconds between the end of that play and the punt. That gives the Bucs a little over minute to work with. Not ideal, don't like their odds. But they would have had a chance.

The right call was made. The odds of them recovering the onside kick had to be far greater than the odds of them stopping Carolina's running game on three consecutive plays because they had shown zero ability to stop the run. Carolina was averaging over 8 yards per carry. That's insane.

As usual' date=' the Saints suck. And are Chicago's bitch.[/quote']

The Saints have the misfortune of playing in the best division in the NFL, as well as lacking a power RB. Put them in the North (and maybe the West) and they win that division.

Is anybody going to watch this "Greatest Game Ever Played"? I intend to... the coloring job they did looks so fake... but at the same time, it looks amazing to me for some reason. It's awesome being able to picture something that used to be in only black and white in color.

It is very cool -- it's awesome to see Freeney, Strahan, Vinatieri, Dungy, etc. talking about the game with the players and coaches involved in it. Too bad Johnny Unitas isn't still alive, I'd love to see him and Peyton Manning talking to eachother.

The Bucs just tied the Falcons 10-10 with 44 seconds remaining. Get this to OT guys.

If Jeff Garcia plays today, I'm pretty confident we win. Don't feel so good with Greise at QB.

WOW' date=' the Bills were up 3 with 2 minutes left and the ball, fumbled it, now the Jets are up 31-27.[/quote']

Yeah, Jauron made the type of decision that could cost a coach his job there. The fumble came on a pass play on 2nd and 5 inside of two minutes. They had just run for 5 easily on 1st down, and had tallied 180+ on the game. Oh, and he had forewarning of potential disaster because he had Losman in the game. Stupid, stupid, stupid decision.

Titans go for it on 4th and short at the 32' date=' down 13-12 with 2 minutes left. They don't make it. Agree or disagree with the decision? They do already have a 1st round bye.[/quote']

Game Center has the wind at 22 mph out of the south, but I can't tell from the display what the orientation of the field is, so that's a tough call. Bironas was 4/4 with a hit from 51, but that came in the 3rd quarter, so I suspect the wind was against them. That's a pretty stiff wind for a 49 yard try, but I think I give it a shot.

Herm Edwards is easily the worst coach in the NFL. How many games has he lost this year where he's built a pretty sizable lead and then went completely conservative and lost the game?

Although Mike Shanahan is making a strong case. First he lets about 20 seconds run off the clock before Carolina punts -- so the Broncos get the ball with about 34 seconds left. Run an unsuccessful play, let the clock run down to 17 seconds and call a timeout. Then run a play to run out the clock, which they fumble, setting Carolina up for a chip shot FG.

That ball doesn't look like it broke the plane of the endzone to me. Certainly shouldn't have been overturned -- hardly undisputable.

This season has been one kick in the nuts after another.

5-9. 6, 6!!!!!! losses of four points of fewer.

They better get their s*** together in time for that week 17 showdown against the Lions. 1-15 is not an option.
