Scouting Report:

Blue Jays: Halladay toiled through a career-high 130 pitches in a loss at home to the Guardians on Saturday, but he is being given an extra day of rest in order to start the opener against the Red Sox. In his last outing, Halladay lasted 6 2/3 innings -- a short outing for the innings eater -- and surrendered four runs on 10 hits. Only one run was earned for Halladay, who has received just 3.8 runs of support from his offense this season. Halladay is 10-11 with a 4.66 ERA in 34 career games against Boston.

Red Sox: Making his first start with the Sox since arriving in Tuesday's trade, Byrd will look to keep his current streak of strong starts going in Boston against the Jays. Byrd is 4-0 since the All-Star break, with a 1.24 ERA in that span, making him a strong addition for Boston's stretch run. Given the current state of the team's rotation, either working through stints on the disabled list (Bartolo Colon and Tim Wakefield) or struggling to find a rhythm (Clay Buchholz), the durable veteran is exactly what the Sox were looking for at this point in the season to bolster their starting five.

Mojo today is the SMART car which I saw while browsing cars at a dealership. I wouldn't mind having this car.

Soxfan#1 already planned to rear-end the back of this car.

It's still a damn good car. I think it gets 60+ MPG. They're all over European cities and I've seen more and more on the streets in Boston.

That's a generous estimate. It gets 40 MPG tops.

Haha it was a total guess. Although I guess they'd get more in Europe because they might run on diesel.

It's kilometers per liter there isn't it?

No, they do liters per 100 km. It's utterly impossible to convert and I just gave up.

No' date=' they do liters per 100 km. It's utterly impossible to convert and I just gave up.[/quote']

Rough numbers....

There are about 60 mi in 100 km and about 4 liters per gallon.

60 / (liters / 4) ==> 240 / liters per km

Actual conversions are 62.5 and 3.785, which is 236.5 / liters.

Byrd has actually pitched decent' date=' offense is making a lot of 1 and 2 pitch outs though.[/quote']

Byrds always been somewhat "decent". He eats some innings and isn't afraid to take the ball in a big game as we saw last year. But he's obviously no Halliday.

Why did you come back?

One of those tough luck nights. Unfortunately, he'll pitch all 9 with the shamrock he has shoved up his ass.

Oh well - you can't win them all at home - specially when you run on a pitcher who likes to dominate us and do complete games.
