If GameCast is right about the location of all the pitches in this game, the ump is calling a singularly crappy game. Pitches down the gut called balls, pitches way the heck off the plate called strikes... Is that accurate?

No, but he and Ellsbury (and Hansen and MDC) have a common theme besides their recent suck/slumps -- a lack of AAA experience. They were not asked to prove themselves before making the jump to the big leagues like even Pedroia was. Mostly because the FO thought they were already ready.

It'd be nice if he could throw an inning or two more (without giving up runs) so we wouldn't have to burn our bullpen guys early. I'm guessing that's what Tito is holding out hope for.
