It looks like the Sox will need 3 innings from the bullpen tonight. Lester is at 88 pitchers. Who gets the work in the 7th and 8th?

Get Timlin one of those. And Hansen. Not sure about the other one. MDC in the 9th?

To state the obvious' date=' that could have been so much more. A-Rod got unlucky, but the ABs by Nady and Cano were very poor, especially considering they both got ahead 2-0 in the count. That might have been their chance, but anything can happen I guess.[/quote']

To state the even more obvious, that should have been absolutely nothing. Molina's a slug, and if the statue of Alex Cora wasn't in the game, that ball had DP written all over it.

Cable was out yesterday, huh?

Giese needs to keep it at 7-2. Looks like I'm the only Yankee fan still posting here.

EDIT: Nice job...need some offense before Papelbon.

I sure hope Papelbon doesn't get a cameo here. Timlin-Hansen-Delcarmen is fine by me. Although I suppose we haven't seen Paps since Wednesday.

Finally someone who sees Cora is just average defensivly. Guy has no range no bat he is a stiff.

The others were all here from the 7th inning on on Friday. They deserted when they realized that Washburn would not be starting instead of Ponson. They are lurking like trolls waiting to appear during a Yankee rally. If ARod hit a wall ball in his last AB, you would have had plenty of company. At least you are not a troll.

True, but I was just focusing on the last three at bats of the inning...from that point on it obviously could have been much more. You're right, it probably shouldn't have gotten to that point, but considering it did I was disapointed that Nady and Cano did nothing after being ahead in the count.

I'll bet that is among the top compliments you've ever given a Yankee fan lol.

Anyway, good inning from Lester there against the guys he should get out.

I don't think anyone thinks otherwise. I am surprised that you even consider him average.

Your right I guess next to Lugo you take for granted that he is a defensive upgrade. My fault there.

Jon Lester is the best pitcher on this team.
Beckett is nothing to sneeze at. It's nice to have a righty and lefty ace and a #3 with 10-1 record with a sub 3 ERA.

Three hits for Ellsbury. All made it through the IF. Of course, the optimism gets tempered when you consider the pitchers.

I am not too excited about Ellsbury's 3 hits. Cora has 2 and Varitek has had some good hacks.

I'm very excited about Ellsburys 3 hits, guy is a catilist came up in big games last year while Varitek and Lugo/Cora were choking against the Guardians. Ellsbury is a talented player only a matter of time.

I think if the Sox make the playoffs, they'd have by far the toughest 4 starters in the AL. Starting pitching has proven to be one of if not the biggest thing in the playoffs.
