is it just me or is he dropping down more out of the pen?

I think that you're correct in that observation.

Nice work by Jeter--I considered that a good pitch.

Again Wakefield with a 5+er against the Yankees at Fenway. Time to start making sure he isn't allowed to face them cause he is afraid.

So how long have you been a Yankees fan? :dunno:

Or are you merely trolling?

He's afraid? I am terrified whenever he is on the mound.

What a drag the post all star break has been. Highlight has been the sweep of the major league worst Seattle Mariners. Hoping Jon Lester brings it vs Washburn or Ponson tomorrow, and the offense hits the ball

Old guy, likely has cardiac issues who complains of weakness in this heat. Good idea letting him stay in.

BTW, Masterson looks like he is not the answer to the sox pen. Time for a trade. Marte woulda been nice.

I've been biting my toungue at the level of stupidity you display in your posts, but this I cannot let pass. Heart? Afraid? What's next, did they lose their mojo? Let me guess, they need a good clubhouse "chemistry" guy, maybe bring Millar back? Then they need to get a guy with grit and guts who is scrappy, Eckstein perhaps?

Stop posting. No, really, stop, the foolishness on display here is epic.

Maybe the answers aren't in-house. They almost never are. It's just an excuse for the FO to rest on their laurels. They built up a lot of good will last year, and this team has not done a 2006 nose-dive, so they will ride it out as the Yankees are fleecing other teams for reinforcements. The Yankee organization wants it more.

1 bad outing and he is a horrible relief pitcher

They want it more? Not sure, I don't see any pain in giving up what they did to acquire Nady and Marte. Without knowing a) what the Pirates wanted from the Sox and B) what the Sox offered for either player, it's tough to say who wanted what more. I could put the Sox affiliates rosters on the wall, blindfold myself, chuck 4 darts up there, and come up with more talent than what they gave up, but I can't make the Pirates accept it.

He's not a terrible relief pitcher. My issue with him in the role is that he is not a relief pitcher. This is an experiment by management. They have no idea how he will do in this role. He's a rookie with very little experience and that experience has all been as a reliever. The heat of the penant race with 58 games left is no time to experiment. If it doesn't work out, the trading deadline will have blown by without having made a move.

Great play by Youk and Lowell.

This game is over though. The Yankees have the best pen in the game. 46-1 when leading after 6 innings.

Go for the sweep tomorrow, and hopefully the Sox are watching the playoffs in October. Unless you guys make a move, you just aren't as good as us at this point.

If the Yanks stole these guys from the Pirates, shame on the FO for not doing a better job to make the deal.

I wasnt calling him a terrible relief pitcher. Sarcasm. I was commenting on Jacko's remark about how Masterson is now not the answer to the bullpen

I realize that you were being sarcastic. I was just putting my opinion out there that this is no time to be experimenting.
