Yea' date=' I agree. There's a way to go about arguing with someone, and just calling them a f*** head isn't the best way to do it. The point isn't to run someone out of town on a rail.[/quote']

I'm gonna quote myself so its not at the bottom of the page

We will have out work cut out to win AL East - Tampa is not going to roll over for us.

There is no door-mat in AL East any more - not Tampa , not Baltimore that we can beat up to improve in our standing.

I know reality sucks.

Ok, so there's no doormat, but that doesn't really hurt us in the division race, since Tampa and New York play in the same division as us.

It helps when the other party acknowledges the other side or comes to the table with something more than "The Red Sox offense isn't as good as some of the top offenses of all time."

Debatable.

This lineup is not awful, like you two claim.

On the contrary I'm not claiming this lineup is awful. Currently it's pretty bad. What I am doing is making the point that when you say "this is the 2nd best offense in the AL"...it's not a real valid statement unless we are talking about a healthy Red Sox lineup....and we are not

Your grammar and word usage leaves a lot to be desired' date=' it's like a four year old is typing your posts.[/quote']

Let us concentrate on substance. The basic point is I do not think this offense is good enough as is to win the division. You guys think otherwise.

What about when Ortiz gets back?

You were bitching when he was in the lineup. When he's back, it's the same goddamn lineup that won the division last year.

OH AND THEY ARE SECOND IN THE LEAGUE IN SCORING AND SCORE OVER 5 A GAME

Yeah, it scored more runs in June, than it does for the average on the year.

You're right, it's not the same.

Now that we are back to playing the AL, it seems that Francona is intent on finishing the game with the same lineup that he started with. Why isn't he PHing for Cora in a 1 run game in the 7th with 2 out and 1 on?

That statement doesn't apply to you for the reasons quoted above.

Should apply to everyone I assume. We should be able to exchange difference of opinion without name calling. If you think what I post is retarded - you don't really need to respond with profanity.

I'll stop with the profanity when you come to the table with ANY substance.

You do whatever you want.

Answer my above post.

People get frustrated when you call out the offense for being terrible, despite mounds of evidence that suggest otherwise.

You've been harping that this offense has been awful since April, and they've scored more runs in each of the last two months than they did back in April.

You continually contradict yourself in your posts, suggesting that an offensive swoon in April was ended due to Jacoby Ellsbury coming back. Now Jacoby can't hit? Really?

I'll bet your wrist is sore batting yourself on the bat for calling the D-Rays staying power, and I'll bet it was sore when the Red Sox went into a six game slump back in April. 99.9% of your post was reminding everyone how awesome your prediction was. s*** like that, pisses people off. I'm not surprised why people react the way they do toward you.

Listen, you tell us why this offense, that is second in the AL in scoring, and has scored just about as much runs without Ortiz in the lineup is bad. I have yet to see a reason, other than that, "o players get hot and the red sox are lucky one got hot."

Not sure but I am leaning that it is not. Drew/D-Ped gets hot and cold. Youk fades after ASB. Manny looks old at the plate, Ortiz had his worse slump in career. In other years - may be. This year it will be hard as AL East is the probably the strongest division in baseball.

On the other hand - if we get to play-off I like our chances with our pitching. Hopefully bullpen will be sorted out by that time.

If you think he's going to respond to this you're insane.

So wait...now you're telling me you think they would continue this pace without David Ortiz in the lineup and would still remain the 2nd best offense in the AL??

Did you consider we had more home games in June not to mention interleague play on the road at Cincinnati and Philadelphia which is always a nice place to pad stats?

I know you are not one to give in when it comes to a debateable argument :D

I understand that my posts piss people off. I always try to balance my posts. And I do use game threads for rants like almost everyone else here.

I love our team. But if I think something needs to be fixed - I say it loud. If it rubs the people wrong way - that is not my intention. I can't sit and post everything is going great if I do not feel that way. Nor I want to take any credit for my predictions - even if I am right. Predictions are nothing but guesswork as far as I am concerned.
