Scouting Report:

Red Sox: The lefty has thrived of late, earning victories in his last two starts. In his last outing, he allowed seven hits and two runs over seven innings in a win over the Orioles. Two starts ago, he defeated the Rays, giving up eight hits and a run over 6 1/3 innings. Lester has given up three earned runs or less in six of his last eight starts. Lester is holding opponents to a .249 average.

Phillies: Moyer is coming off his longest and best outing of 2008, one in which he beat the Marlins in Miami with eight shutout innings and allowed only two hits while walking one and striking out three. The 45-year-old lefty is now 5-0 in his last six starts. The Red Sox will be somewhat of a familiar foe for Moyer, who spent most of his career in the American League and is 6-11 in 20 lifetime starts against Boston. One matchup to watch out for is Moyer vs. slugger Manny Ramirez, who has tagged the lefty for 10 home runs, more than any other hitter.

Crappy strike 3 call on Lugo there. Low and in.

Sox up 2-0 in the 4th.

Not only was Lugo's strikeout total BS, but the third strike on Varitek was wayyyy off the plate as well.

He is far advanced from what we first saw of him in 2006.

for that matter, he's far advanced from what we saw of him in April 2008

You're from Philly?

No - about 30 minutes from Philly - in NJ. User to live in Brooklyn.

About the ball park - fantastic stadium. Paid $45 for a $40 ticket near first base. In Yankee stadium - that will probably get me a seat on the blitcher.

Lots of Sox fans and they all cheered loud. No big deal really. Lester just looked little vulnerable on the 1st and the 7th - but he locked it for the rest of the night. Only time Philly looked like they can make a comeback was when Oki was pitching.

Paps was fantastic - he made lot of people go for early exit.

J.D. Drew got booed really hard - I guess there is some bad history with him and Philly fans.
