6 weeks! Wow.

Ya and then he'll have to take time to go through a rehab assignment. It could be quite awhile. I'd love to see the Yanks sell the farm to get Fatty C.C.

better than a Lisfranc. 6 weeks and then a rehab assignment gets him back in 8 weeks, just in time for mid august. With the fact that the rest of the league is pretty average, I think we can do it without him. I think the ALE is out right now, though.

Imaging studies revealed a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament of the right foot and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon of the right foot.

At least he doesn't have the perianal tear that Arod has.

all reports are stating it'll take him about 4 weeks to get back into shape after he's out of the boot, which he's in for a minimum of 6 weeks. Wang out of the season is still a possibility. gotta love those NL park interleague series'....

“My only message is simple,” Steinbrenner said in Tampa, Fla. “The National League needs to join the 21st century. They need to grow up and join the 21st century.”

Steinbrenner said he was angry and added: “I’ve got my pitchers running the bases, and one of them gets hurt. He’s going to be out. I don’t like that, and it’s about time they address it. That was a rule from the 1800s.”

Making a rare appearance on the bases at an N.L. park in Houston on Sunday, Wang pulled up rounding third and hobbled home on a Derek Jeter single.

“This is always a concern of American League teams when their pitchers have to run the bases and they’re not used to doing it,” Steinbrenner said. “It’s not just us. It’s everybody. It probably should be a concern for National League owners, general managers and managers when their pitchers run the bases. Pitchers have enough to do without having to do that.”

whatta douche

dont you understand?

the steinbrenners think they invented baseball and they are the ones who know all.

how dare they ask pitchers to run the bases as if....as if the were ballplayers...

the only question here is how many times did his father jerk off before he knocked up the swine who bore this f***ing idiot.

i thought he was silenced after the last stroke?

ok now you're just talking out of your ass. Much like Hank does. I guess that puts you in the same category all you bean-heads put him in. :D

The frustration is completely understandable, as the injury took place while he was performing an activity that he doesn't perform in the A.L.

The reaction, on the other hand is ridiculous and comical. Wang could have just as easily gotten injured covering first base on a grounder that pulled the 1B off the bag...in fact I'd argue that that particular play is more strenuous.

It is very unfortunate for the Yankees and Wang, but it is part of the game. You'd think a grown man in his FO position would be able to temper his frustration and conduct himself with more professionalism, self-respect and self-control.

Then again the s*** doesn't fall far from the horse's ass, does it.

Bartolo injured his back swinging out of his shoes and even if he's out until September, you know none of the Sox brass would make any comments similar to Hank.

I dont know for sure, but I would guess that nobody in the Sox front office has the drinking problem that Hank has either. I could be wrong though..

That could also be related to the fact that Bartolo sucks.

Losing Wang is tough, but I think they'll manage to work through it. The American League isn't particularly strong this year. I don't see a trade for Sabathia happening any time soon. Giese will be starting for a while and will get a good look. Giese and Rasner could be Small and Chacon. Or Tim Redding and Chase Wright. Who knows.

I know athletes can and do get hurt doing the simplest of things. With that said....

If you can't run a modified circle 370 feet without getting hurt, you and everyone speaking on your behalf should just shut the f*** up.

... And the Yankees wish that they had him.

No thanks.

Ormore appropriately Tim Redding and Darrel May. Even though Quantrill was struggling that year, that trade was a DISASTER. And lets not forget Chase Wright was rushed quite a bit and didn't look too terrible in all of his starts. Although the Sox fans would beg to differ because the one outing that most of them saw was his atrocious blowup at Fenway. I still think he could turn out to be decent. He's pitching well in AA this year. 6-1 with a 2.56 in Trenton.

Anyway though, the last thing I want the Yankees to do is go out and give up the farm on that fatass Sabathia. I would rather a less costly, higher gamble like Maddux, Lowe, Wolf, etc. Someone along those lines. For now though I think we let Giese try to piece it together. If not we've got some arms worth taking a look at. Karstens, White, etc. Lets not forget the likes of Kennedy, Igawa (gulp), and even dare I say Pavano (double gulp). You know Pavano wants a contract next year. He may be able to contribute something down the stretch. But like I said, I want no part of Sabathia and his 4.26 ERA. Only good thing that could come from getting him is the draft picks. But who knows if the exchange is worth it, depends on what we would give up.

Whatever happened to those David Wells whispers?

..Rocket relaunch anybody? hahaha

Couple of ways to handle the issue if a FO is that concerned about it.

- Don't pitch him in NL parks.

- Tell him to run very carefully, regardless of the situation

BTW, is the rumor true that Hank now wants all of his players wrapped in bubble wrap whenever they're not playing so they don't get a boo-boo?

It'll be interesting to see how the Yanks play this. I don't think they go after CC because they don't really have talent the Guardians would want, but I also don't think they stand pat with Giese/etc.

Bronson Arroyo anyone?

How great does making Joba a starter look now, after all this? The YES crew was just discussing this and I thought it was a great point. If Joba had not been stretched out by this point, the Yanks would be in big trouble. They'd have to deal with two big holes in the rotation as opposed to just one.
