Leave the brooms at home, this isn't October, but a sweep anytime is nice. Let's take all four from these Lone Rangers and then set our sites on some Halos later this week!

Teams: Texas Rangers vs. Boston Red Sox

Location: Fenway Park, Boston

Date/Time: April 21, 2008 at 11:05pm EST

Scouting Report:

Rangers: Gabbard is making his first career start against the Red Sox. He began his career with them before being traded to the Rangers on July 31, 2007. He is 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two starts on the road this year, but 2-4 with a 5.09 ERA in 16 appearances on the road in his career. He was 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA in five starts for the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Red Sox: The righty is coming off a tough start against the Yankees on Wednesday, when he was belted around for eight hits and seven runs over 3 2/3 innings while walking one and striking out two. The Texas native will be making his first career appearance against the Rangers. Buchholz hasn't gotten to 100 pitches or pitched into the seventh inning in any of his first three starts.

Gabbard has been nothing but solid in his major league tenure thus far, I don't know why some sox fans think he wasn't a big loss in that Gagne deal. I would love to have kason gabbard right now. 4.08 career ERA so far.

I cannot wait for this month to be over. Enjoy the game guys.

Me neither...the Sox most difficult month will be over with.

Heh I forgot that. Toronto, Detroit (yeah, yeah, but they're gonna be good), Yanks, Cleveland, Yanks. 7-6 in those games, 7-3 not including the miserable Toronto series. I'll take it. And we've handled the s***** teams with a 6-1 record against Oakland and Texas. We're doing what we should.

an empty Gatorade cooler would've been a big loss in the Gagne deal

Lowrie instead of Casey since Gabbard's a lefty, I assume. Not to beat a dead horse, but I'd rather see Lowrie instead of Lugo. Small sample size, I know, but in 12 AB Lowrie has done a lot more with the bat than Lugo in 66 AB.

ESPN.com's player stats have Lowrie with a .417 BA and a .385 OBP. That seem odd to anyone else?

Why' date=' no Manny today? He got a day off yesterday. This makes no sense.[/quote']

From the Globe:

Terry Francona said Manny Ramirez will keep his day off so to keep on the schedule they have for Ramirez to relax for a couple of days
