Because they're my favorite band. Since it was the mojo last night and we won, it gets carried through until we lose. Yes, my superstitions... not really, but it just feels like nothing should change until a loss.

#41 Chien-Ming Wang (2-0, 1.38)

#61 Clay Buchholz (0-1, 5.40)

Don'tcha love the hardened criminal stare that Clay Buchholz has in his pic?

Certainly Wang's got a good ERA this April. Still, one must consider these points:

1) He's pitching his first road game tonight. Last year his ERA was 2.16 runs higher on the road than it was pitching in Yankee Stadium. Remember that Wang has a career 6.17 ERA in Fenway, too.

2) His BABIP allowed has been .250 thus far in 2008. That won't last, especially outside of the Bronx. His career split is a .263 BABIP allowed at home and a .318 on the road--more of those ground balls will get through for hits in Boston.

3) While his ERA is 1.38, his xFIP (a measure of expected ERA from walks, strikeouts and fly balls allowed, which correlates better with future ERA han current ERA does) is 3.02 thus far in 2008. That's roughly the same as his 2.75 home ERA last season--I think that we're looking at the same old Chien-Ming Wang.

Should be a good game. Disregard the W/L records: these are the two best teams in baseball. IMO, Boston needs to win the season series with the Yankees to have a realistic shot at the AL East title--it may be April, but this is a big game.

I think this is going to be the first summer in a long time that I haven't seen DMB. Good song. Good mojo. Win.

Yeah. Last night's game was American Baby. Last night I got tickets to both nights of his concert at Tweeter, so I was in the mood to use the band as mojo. DMB concerts are awesome, aren't they? Absolute shitfests, lol. Some couple pulled a quickie next to me and was bumping into me and everything. lol what a night.

What's the weather look like up there?

Pretty cloudy, but they should be able to squeeze the game in. Tomorrow's game is the more questionable one.

Okay' date=' I need them to win this game for several reasons, chief among them a bet with my girlfriend. Just. Friggin. Win.[/quote']

And by "bet" do you mean "whoever loses wears the leash tonight" ... ?

Is he starting the tour up here again? Cause I've been seeing him every summer for like 5ish years and he always finishes here and only really sounded great the summer he played at fenway. Last summer he kicked off his tour at tweeter though and I thought it was the best I've ever seen them. Even dave sounded good.

Am I still the only DMB fan that thinks its funny the band is named after the least talented member?

It's a chain, not a leash. What do I look like, a pervert?!

Im fairly certain her and I will be classified as on-again/off-again until the end of time.

I don't think he's starting it here. He's here the 24th and 25th of June, which seems too late for him to kick it off. I never really saw Dave as the least talented, but IMO the most talented is Boyd Tinsley, the violinist. He's insane on that thing.

I'll get a better video... probably a copyright thing.

Yeah, Boyd is a total animal. To me, Carter Beauford is up there with Bonham and Jordison and one or two others as possibly the best drummer to pick up sticks. Wow, DMB
Posted
lol yeah. DMB is just a total favorite. I have to listen to a few of their songs every day or I go through withdrawal - and I'm not kidding. For some reason I have the same thing with Wyclef Jean... just something about them that is incredibly pleasing to my ears lol.

Thats me and phish but I do like me some DMB. I think I've seen him like ten times, so i need a break this summer.

I wouldn't admit that in public. I heard from a friend she agreed to do playboy and while I'm sitting here at work I think I'm gonna see if there is any truth to that.... i mean, of course I'm not... no...

erm, go red sox. literally all of my friends are at this game and I'm stuck at work.

Posted

Bad news, I think my friend made that up. But yeah, at least you're cool enough to admit that. Even if all of her songs are stolen. Hey who cares.

I've been hoping for clay to get to face thanks yanks this season all winter. This is going to be the longest 25 minutes.

Posted
Trying, but I can't get excited about Yanks/Sox in April. Just another ho-hum game to me. I've seen too many huge games over the years to bring the intensity up to October levels in April. I've been spoiled.
Posted
Pssh. I get excited about a baseball game in general. If I'm flipping through the channels and I catch a friggin Twins-Guardians game, a college game, or hell, even the High School World Series, I watch it. I love baseball.
