Runs scored the past 10 yrs

2007: 56

2006: 65

2005: 42

2004: 41

2003: 65

2002: 50

2001: 68

2000: 45

1999: 69

1998: 52

2008? 25

The only reason we won 4 games is the pitching. Our offense is awful right now. When did anyone ever think that after 9 games (where 6 included the royals and rays) that we'd be averaging 2.7 runs a game. Thats embarassing.

Don't fret jacko, look at Detroit's offense. Both very intimidating line ups who just haven't warmed up yet. Once they get going, watch out. In the meantime, I'll enjoy games where A-rod strikes out 4 times, ha ha!

Papi is really struggling too, it won't last.

its safe to say to say that the 4 worst teams on paper before the year began were kc baltimore florida and sanfranciso

as of this morning?

kc in 1st

baltimore in 1st

florida in 1st

san fran last......

early in the season teams are reluctant to over work their starters and many are just getting acclimated to the weather up north.

the hitters tend to start warming up mid month so the 1st 3 weeks are a crap shoot.

what i did notice was that KC was a short favorite at home last nite against ny.

the last time kc was favored over ny john mayberry was playing 1st base for them and willie wilson centerfield.

its not that the public thinks kc is all that, hardly, the reason that ny was a short dog is that the public has no confidence in them against the worst franchise in sports not called the clippers.

I'm well aware of the Sox' struggles. I just didn't see anyone proclaiming their awesomeness going into the season. For a couple of years running, there have been "Thousand Run Offense" predictions from some Yankee fans. The table is a play on that.

Jesus Christ. It's a 162 game season. Be happy the pitching has been good. The offense will come. Just like it always does.

Its' a shame about the Yanks offensive start. Didn't ARod have 22 Hrs this time last year? Did he go off the 'roids' date=' perhaps?[/quote']

How about Papi? He finally decide to stop shooting that HGH?

Yeah, he was taking HGH to get bigger and fatter or to physically recover from his 4 ABs. He'll be bitch-slapping Yankee pitchers when the weather gets warm

I dont think 26-6 was serious. Im pretty sure he was referring to the stupidity of implying that A-Rod used steroids.

Has Canseco been wrong yet?

Have we heard everything Canseco had to say about it? Shut the f*** up...until their is more evidence it isn't fair to single out A-Rod when Papi probably used too. I only say that since you guys are being ridiculously stupid and throwing these A-Rod things out there.

I've met people who sell crack and s***, wouldn't call them friends or anything, but I've met them here and there. Does that mean I use crack because whoever I was with revealed that he introducedme to them? And whether he did or didn't, he isn't now and is still in his prime. So just all of you do all of us a favor and stuff something in your mouth.

Honestly, what I think is that Canseco noticed that people were paying less and less attention to him, and since he wanted that attention for his new book, Vindicated: Tales of a Whiny Attention Whore, he figured, 'gosh, I should probably make some kind of vague, unsubstantiated comment about steroids relating to a player that is so naturally talented that no one would ever have expected it...I got it! Alex Rodriguez!

I find it hard to believe it's coincidence that his little story about A-Rod happened to come out about the same time as his book. Bet that's reflected in sales.

Not to mention the personal vendetta Canseco has towards A-Rod. Win-win in so many ways for Canseco. Gets attention for his book, and gets to s*** on A-Rod all at the same time!

That makes sense. It also makes sense for a guy with serious insider information to not blow it all out in one book. Piecemeal it, and he makes more money.

I didn't bring it up because I think or care either way about what ARod (or Ortiz) did or does, but with Canseco's track record on the subject, it's unfair to call anyone stupid for suggesting it. Although, it is kind of fun to ruffle the feathers of Fanboy #1.

Stupidity? Why would that implication be considered stupid? It is simply a statement of suspicion, tinged with a good dose of sarcasm, which apparently was missed by at least one reader.

Personally, I think anyone convinced that a player with those kind of numbers, particularly one who hits the ball 400+ feet to the opposite field with virtually a one-handed swing, HAS NOT ever used PEDs might be a touch more outrageous than those thinking that perhaps, just perhaps, he might have used PEDs.

He never said Clemens used steroids in his first book. And with your post "has Canseco been wrong yet," you're implying that you believe A-Rod used steroids, which without any evidence is a ridiculous accusation to make, as is saying that Davod Ortiz used steroids. If you guys are going to be morons and say things like that, then I'm going to point out a much likelier scenario of a player using performance enhancing drugs in David Ortiz.

David Ortiz included?

A-Rod has always done it, and is continuing to do it. Ortiz was hitting bitch-balls in Minnesota, when he did hit, before going to Boston and hitting bombs.

I suspect many players, not just ARod. I've stated that time and again, and personally I don't blame them, nor do I really care if they s*** their own livers out as a result.

ok so now that you've singled out A-Rod from players on your list of suspicion, how about Papi? And how about a real answer this time...

As Paul Harvey would say, "and now for the rest of the story":

Here's the entire book entry

It was the pitchers that kept the “B12” joke going. For example, I’ve never seen Roger Clemens do steroids, and he never told me that he did. But we’ve talked about what steroids could do for you, in which combinations, and I’ve heard him use the phrase “B12 shot” with respect to others.

While I suppose I could just refer you to past posts where I've listed suspected users, I'll play along...I'm going to mix it up a bit, hitting different eras and levels of talent:

Kapler, Youk, Ortiz, Troy O'Leary, Tek, Foulke, John Valentin, Nixon, ARod, Giambi, Posada, Pettitte (but only twice..I mean 4 times...I mean...well you get the picture), Clemens, Sheffield, Ruben Sierra, Rivera, Karim Garcia (right, who?), Knoblauch, Ricky Henderson, Miguel Tejada, Jim Thome, Luis Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez, Morgan Ensberg, Jeff Bagwell, Kevin Brown, Damon, Dante Bichette, Biggio,Palmeiro, Jeter, Burnitz, Garciaparra, Jim Edmunds, Scott Rolen, Mike Lansing, Albert Belle, Greg Vaughn, Moises, Vinny Castilla, Jay Buhner, Gary Gaeitti, Ron Gant, Pedro, I'm tired and I think I'll stop now.

As to my beliefs, I have implied nothing. Like I stated above, my mentioning of Canseco was only to draw attention to the folly of calling someone stupid for being suspicious of ARod.

That was a nice, intelligent response. Good for you

It was deserved. Or was this a shining example of intelligent discourse...

Shut the f*** up....

Not only was it deserved, but it was correct. If you weren't such a defensive little bitch when it came to everything Yankee, we wouldn't be where we are now in this discussion.

Thanks, Paul. Now show me that part where Canseco says Clemens didn't use PED's. He didn't see it, and Clemens didn't tell him, but that does not say Clemens "didn't" do it.
