The National Sombrero Warning Service has issued a Golden Sombrero Warning for the Kansas City area.

ARod - 3 K's, 4 is a Golden Sombrero.

Dorf on Baseball didn't look so hot today. The heart of the order was smoking the ball off him.

Is it just me, or do the Royals look pretty decent? I mean I don't see them as a playoff team by any stretch or anything, but I don't think they're one of the worst teams in the league this year. I mean, their first 3 pitchers aren't bad with Meche - Bannister - Greinke... what sayest thou?

Oh, and Gom, which matchup do you think favored you? I liked two in favor of KC (Bannister and Greinke) and one toss up.

They are certainly on the way up. They could use more pitching (how far off is Hochevar?), and more seasoning, but other than that, if they aren't contending this year, they will be soon.

Should have traded him for Santana. f*** him and Kennedy. Cashman to be lit on fire and rolled down the Deegan. Film at 11.

I think the Yankees are in trouble, I mean they have Mussina, Kennedy and Hughes as 3/5 of their rotation. No question they are talented but they are all going to be inconsistent which is why I think the Yankees are going to struggle this year.

moose looked serviceable against tampa but opening night he had nothing

its difficult to see him finishing the year with anything under a 5.5 era and if he can produce those #s and give them 180ip? he may win 14-16 games

ive said this before

ny and boston best get their collective s*** together because the a.l is too good and balanced for me to think of a giant winning streak by either club.

5 in a row?

sure

22-25?

doubtfull

So the Yanks call up Alberto Gonzalez tonight. Not sure if that means Jeter's going to the DL, or maybe perhaps Posada. However, Peter Abraham is reporting that Morgan Ensberg might actually be the one to hit the DL with a "mysterious knee injury."

Here's the Yankee Lineup, with Kennedy on the hill. *sigh*

J. Damon DH

R. Cano 2B

B. Abreu RF

A. Rodriguez 3B

H. Matsui LF

J. Giambi 1B

J. Molina C

M. Cabrera CF

A. Gonzalez SS

Surprisingly, nobody is going to the DL. Shelley Duncan was optioned to Scranton to make room. Now if Damon plays left and Matsui DH's, or vice versa, there is no outfield depth on the bench and if an injury went down in the middle of a game, we would lose the DH. Idk about this one..

very secretive today. They are saying "shoulder stiffness". But the fact that it is pouring in KC and was supposed to rain anyway, I wouldnt be surprised. Girardi seems to like keeping the media in the dark. So long as Kennedy isnt hurt, I am game. If he is hurt, then this is bad news.

Yankee fan #1: I hear Girardi took a dump.

Yankee fan #2: A dump? I didn't know about that.

Yankee fan #3: Was it from the fiber?

Yankee fan #2: That makes sense, very clever of Girardi to take fiber for regular dumps.

Yankee fan #1: Not a lot of news about the dump, but I hear there were nachos, wings, and beer last night. As long as it was a good dump, I'm happy.

Yankee fan #3: It takes some courage to mix the fiber and nachos, wings, and beer. Girarid is a hero.

Girardi wasn't sick the other day, he couldn't get in the dugout because of the teflon. The game is two outs from being official and Farnsworth just got on the hook for the loss. Would all of you have signed up to have Farnsworth potentially pitching the bottom of the last inning in a tie? Didn't think so.
