Very decent start by Matsuzaka tonight, I'm really impressed with his pitching. He fanned 8 in 7.2 innings and gave up that 1 run by Cust in the 2nd. He's really looking good so far.

 

I think Tito made the right choice to bring Oki in to retire Cust also. That should keep us the lead.

Well, Dice-K and Varitek prooved tonight that their struggles in Japan weren't a sign of things to come. Let's hope Lester does the same thing tomorrow.

I'm really happy with the way Ellsbury is swinging the bat. He was only 1 for 5 tonight but he was putting good swings on the ball. Two of his shots to left I thought off the bat would fall in but they hung up long enough for Brown to make a play on them. I think great things are to come for Jacoby.

I think Tek did exceptionally well tonight as well. He got robbed of a home run by the Umps but still put some wood on the ball after with that single.

 

Ellsbury's got some good bat speed, and his defense is very solid, he proved that back in Japan.

 

I just hope our 3 and 4 guys can start hitting. I know it's early in the season but the sooner the better right?

they do have a couple legit starters but that lineup really eats it

yea the lineup sucks but they're still an organization that preaches plate discipline and for a pitcher with control issues like Dice-K has, no walks is encouraging
