Perfect strategy. Starter goes seven, Joba in the 8th, Mo in the 9th.

All in all...a nice final opening day for the Yankees. A well played game, dramatic, and fun.

Good, clean game. Some great plays (by Melky), some timely hitting, and some good pitching. Can't ask for much more on Opening Night.

1 down, 161 to go.

I really thought Aaron Hill's base running in the 7th changed the outcome of the game. He was rounding second with Damon picking up a ball near the wall after Melky did his patented dive and ended up nowhere near the ball. He stopped at second, down by a run, and I don't think Damon would have had a great chance at throwing him out at third.

The announcers mentioned it but perhaps if I was watching a Blue Jays broadcast they would have discussed the subject at more length.

Hill advanced to 3rd on Zauns ground out where he chould have been crossing home plate. Oh well...:dunno:

I was just glad to see that Wang wasnt "ruined" like some had speculated. One bad postseason does not a bad pitcher make.

SSS?

I am happy for you if you like what you saw from Wang. I thought he was living on the edge and would have lost the game if not for a base running mistake by the Jays. Then again with Wang's luck - he will probably win 19 games again.

But hey - if you are happy with Wang and Muss as your 1 and 2 - I have nothing to complain.

Giambi is playing great 1st base by his standard. I know he had an error today - but he had that fantastic catch yesterday to save a run and now saves Jeter from an error.

Yeah, Giambi has definitely been surprising at first these two games. I've been really pleased with the Yanks defense so far this season...as Damon makes a nice catch at the wall.

A-Rod's the tieing run at the plate in the ninth with no outs. Whoever's responsible for those empty seats I'm seeing should be ashamed of themselves.

edit: Ballgame. Jays win.
