Pettitte said that Clemens talked to him about using HGH.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/02132008/sports/yankees/juicy_twist_to_d_c__showdown_97459.htm

Here is the funny part. Clemens said Pettitte misundestood him - Clemens's wife had used HGH not Clemens.

If I remember right - that's exactly what Mcnamee said - he injected Clemen's wife under Clemen's direction.

I wonder who should we believe now - way to throw wifey under the bus Roger.

I think bottom-line is Clemens is f***ed. He can have fun sharing cell with Bonds.

Looks like nanny contradicts Clemens story - a case of 'mis-remembering' may be.

We can take another poll - at what point Clemens admits he lied and he has used steroids?

I think after he gets cuffed.

Incredibly poor judgment by Waxman with his closing statement. Just really piss poor and incredibly self-serving. And this is coming from someone who's convinced Raja is a juicer and can't stand the sight of him. All that his stupid self-serving closing statement did wasjust cause people to have sympathy for a cheater. Now his lawyers can claim that it was personal and that the odds were stacked against Raja from the beginning and soon we'll get Waxmanism to replace McCarthyism.

Just incredibly self-serving and ridiculously stupid.

It was a split decision IMO. Some congressional folks siding with Clemens, some with McNamee and one with Pettite. Nothing solved, much like the hearings of 2005. A waste of time, effort and tax dollars.

So' date=' can someone sum it up for me? I didn't get to see it.[/quote']

basically McNamee lied, and so did Clemens. The politicians turned it into a farce with opinions split down between party lines. It was pathetic. The Republicans ripped Mcnamee and tossed Raja softball questions, while the Dems did their best Perry Mason tactics to catch Raja in his own web of inconsistencies and lies.

Worst thing was Waxman's incredibly moronic closing statement that basically declared to everyone in the world that he dragged Roger up there with the full intent to humiliate and discredit him. I'm fine with Raja eating some humble pie, but why the hell would you make it so damn easy for him to garner sympathy now. I would not be shocked if they referred to this hearing as Waxmanism. He did a piss poor job as the head of the committee and now I'll have to hear people talk about how Roger got screwed by big government politicans, and how the Dems sided with the drug dealer to screw over the Republican, gun-toting country boy from Texas. WASTE OF TIME.

Never thought I'd say this, but hardin was right, this crap sholda gone to court, via either the anti-defamation suit or in front of a federal jury.

No, but this isn't about their personalities, it's about Clemens trying to sue Macnamee for defamation. If (is) Clemens is lying, he should face perjury charges. Bring this to court, lying underoath, and falsely suing for defamation is illegal and he should have to face the consequence. I just hope he doesn't get off with a slap on the wrist. It's done for him. He's lied under oath, now he has to pay the price.

I'd give him one more shot to tell the truth, if he admits it and drops the suit, fine. If not, your going to face a jury on perjury charges. I'm sick of this.

I don't care about the steroids aspect of this, the gov't shouldn't be involved, but Clemens is the one who is bring it to court.

There are just too many unexplainable inconsistencies on Roger Clemens' side. I never beleived him, and after today, I might even beleive him less due to Pettite's deposition. He still has no reason why Pettite "misremembered" their conversation and it's been exposed that his cover up about his wife could not have been true.

Pettitte and Knoblauch corroborate McNamee's story.

Clemens admits his wife had been injected with HGH corroborating McNamee

Pettitte says Clemens discussed using HGH.

Clemens said Pettitte misheard on two occasions

McNamee claims that Clemens developed an abscess on his buttocks from a botched steroid shot

The injury to Clemens buttocks resulting from an injection was confirmed by independent sources.

Clemens says the injury was from a B-12 shot

Clemens adamantly denies taking steroids or performance enhancing drugs.

Years ago Clemens lied in a criminal matter involving Texas police

Does Clemens story add up?

McNamee lied to police about raping a woman in Florida

He lied to federal investigators about having physical evidence regarding Clemens

McNamee keeps changing his recollection of how many times he injected Clemens (count the needles you supposedly kept)

McNamee puts Clemens at Canseco's house - can't be corroborated

McNamee admired Clemens, took his money, and never wanted to hurt him - but, he didn't trust him????

McNamee, a former cop, the son of a cop, does not define a drug dealer as one who provides illegal substances to others for money. I'm curious what is his definition of a drug dealer.

McNamee passed himself off as a doctor with a PHD. He obtained a "PHD" through a mail order house. He used likenesses of pro athletes to promote his training business, without authorization from the athletes.

McNamee explained, he did not immediately supply physical evidence that would incriminate Clemens - soiled steroid syringes, needles and gauze - to the Mitchell commission or investigators because, McNamee said, he didn't want to bury Clemens too deep. McNamee said he produced the evidence only when, after the report was issued, he felt betrayed by Clemens, who secretly recorded a phone call between them and played it publicly.

McNamee said protection of Clemens also led him to initially minimize the number of times he said he injected Clemens. Now, with McNamee feeling betrayed by Clemens and with more time for accurate recall, McNamee has raised his estimates from seven to 50.

What difference would it have made how many times he injected Clemens, one time is enough in the court of public opinion to ruin Clemens' career and any induction to the Hall of Fame. This makes no sense.

He's an opportunist. Why lie about Clemens and not Pettite and Knoblauch -- one possibility - he stands to make much more from falsely accusing Clemens than truthfully naming Pettite and Knoblauch based purely on their status as players. One statement from the hearing yesterday I agree with was when Congressman Foxx asked McNamee if he had a book deal and he stated no - she replied We Shall See.

anyone who saw yesterdays hearings and found raja credible needs a brain enema.

good to see dan burton stand tall.

6 confessed extra marital affairs,1 illegitimate kid and he is pontificating about the truth??

what the f*** does this douchebag know about the truth?

i also liked the congressman dressed in pinstripes, the whore who come out and said""i believe you're going to heaven raja"" and the ny rep who said""my collegue from massachusetts wants to know who's hat you're wearing to the hall of fame""

memo to the congressman

you wont be alive to see raja in the hall of fame

that boat is gone

Neither of them are credible, McNamee or Clemens. You will also never know the whole truth because while Clemens is lying, McNamee as the star witness for the prosecution in a trial is a joke. I don't see the feds ever trying to prosecute Clemens, they can't clean-up McNamee's past and they would need to make him a credible witness to succeed. That boat sailed years ago in a Florida hotel swimming pool.
Posted

Yeah there's no possible way the feds would be stupid enough to use McNamee if they decide to persecute Clemens.

I mean seriously, the guy rapes a woman, and the Feds don't even bother to do anything about it yet they got time to go after people who are cheating in a game?

hey look I'm as pissed off about Clemens and Bonds as the next guy, but give me a break, i'd rather have the rapists in jail.

memo to mr crunchy, you should have watched the whole hearing instead of picking up soundbites :P

it was a sarcastic remark because she was grilling Raja on why he wasn't taking any action against the people who had allegedly misinformed him about the Mitchell report and he was being evasive about it and finally said that he was a forgiving person, to which the congresswoman gave that reply to

this is how i see it bb

the entire mitchell report has been substantiated and ackowledged as true by everyone involved with the exception of raja and his crack defense team.

clemens says petitte misunderstood him

clemens says despite mcnamee being a complete and utter scumbag he kept him around because he(raja) was a forgiving person.

ok

i'll close my eyes and give him these 2 items

but he did something else yesterday in front of congress

he threw his wife under the bus

he threw the mother of his children in front of a speeding greyhound and never looked back

this to me is the epitome of raja clemens

a fraud

a complete and utter fraud who at this stage of his miserable existance will do or say anything to save his image including tossing the mother of his children under the bus.

come on bb

this maggot just threw his wife into traffic without looking both ways nor caring about the consequences.

i dont always get along with my wife but i would kill everyone on this panel with a f***ing howe pliars and a blow torch before i implicated the mother of my children in something as sordid and sleazy as this s*** not to mention the humiliation that is being thrust upon karen kotex kobe and kathleen for being sired by this douchebag.

i cannot for the life of me understand why these GOP reps and senators were going out of their way to defend this guy either.its as if he was running for president

what i didnt see was who the mass rep was but i suspect it was steve lynch and no,i didnt see the part of the female grilling him but only this soundbite,1 of 10000 from yesterday that i found completely inappropriate...

trust me it was a completely sarcastic remark obviously aimed at his disingenuine answer.

waxman's remarks at the end of the hearing was just as stupid IMO. he gave raja's defense team the perfect way to spin this now. his closing statement was completely stupid and needless.

are you one of the 8% of polled nyers that believes raja mr. hate me?

you can read my posts in this thread in their entirety to find the answer, just don't go for the soundbites ;)
