Hey everybody...as a milwaukee resident, i'm an avid brewer fan, while still staying loyal to the sox, of course, and i'm just curious what your thoughts of the brewers are? I find it hard to stay objective, and i just wanted to hear some outside opinions on the brewers outlook this year (although i doubt everyone will be objective on the gagne signing:lol: )

Brewers made some huge strides forward last year. Jason Kendall is awful, and Mike Cameron wasn't a good signing as Jacko said. If Gagne can be his Texas self and not his Boston self, that will obviously help a lot. Sheets' help is a huge key as well. Fielder and Braun should be fun to watch.

I didn't think the Cameron signing was that bad, he'll obviously be an improvement in the outfield. An outfield of Braun, Cameron and Hart with Hall moving back to the infield should be enough to compete with the Cubs in the Central. Also it's only for one year and they don't have to pay him while he's suspended so I think the Brew Crew turned out ok there. Same thing with Kendall only a 1 year deal and he is known to work well with his pitching staff, he'll bat 8th in the NL so he won't be expected to do too much.

I've been intrigued by the Brewers for the past few seasons and followed them from a far and enjoyed watchign them play. You have to love their young players who really make up the core of that team, plus they have some veteran influence on the team and a fine manager. After following them the past few seasons it's good to see them climbing into the picture.

The Brewers will have trouble competing with, in particular, the Cubs. The Cubs were and are better, and they have far more money to use in July if the need or opportunity presents itself. St Louis and Houston are always dangerous, despite their recent weak records, and the Reds aren't much worse than the Brewers.

It's tough to be a contender when you're fifth in runs scored and ninth in runs allowed in a good year. The Brewers are doing a good job with limited financial resources--I'm just not sure that contending against Chicago, Houston and St Louis is viable.

signing Cameron is not a good move. But the Brewers are young and good and should win that division.

Speaking of Braun who I claimed off waivers last year while y'all were taking a nap and then won the championship. Not to mention the plethora of other players that I claimed off waivers while you were all napping. You gonna play the league you started again this year? BudLight pansied on us because he wouldn't cough up the 20 bucks for the ENTIRE YEAR, typical Yankee fan..but I know you have faith in your team. It's 50 now I assume FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR ,and everyone got their money. Well me because I won. In or out. Year 4 for us and you can't give up on the young pitchers yet that you keep drafting. I just know that the young buck Cole Hamels will finally come through for you.

Congrats on you FBB championship last year!!! Just for the record it wasn't the $20, it was no guarantee that the money would end up in the winners hands. After the past few seasons and the "management" of the league, the league had not established itself as legititmate enough, IMO, to be a pay league. Having said that, I am glad it worked out for all of you, congrats again.
