I'm starting to believe Clemens, although I could see some easy things like once in a while he wold look down after a bold statement that could say he was lying, but the overall interview was very convincing. He also is going in front of congress which shows me he either is confident enough to risk going to jail in exchange for a ticket to the HOF or he's telling the truth.

Roger Clemens is full of it.

Instead of a calm, cool, collected Roger he was an angry, bitter, unfocused Roger.

"You'd think I'd get an inch of respect. An inch. How, how can you prove your innocence?"

First off, he was innocent. Someone implicated him with approximate times, locations, dates, and amount of steroids used. Brian McNamee had nothing to gain by lieing. You are innocent until proven guilty but right now the proof is in favor of Clemens being guilty. If you used steroids to prolong your career to 24, 25 years then you don't get any respect. Not an inch.

Most common answers from Roger Clemens:

"Never happened"

Very insightful Roger....care to elaborate?

Roger Clemens also made his attempt to make Brian McNamee look like a jackass by discussing the fact he "helped him out", "I took care of him", "I treated him fairly" (as opposed to others I guess?)...and he betrayed you by telling the truth.

"But if I would've known what this man, Brian McNamee had said in this report, I would have been down there in a heartbeat to take care of it."

What would he have done? What would he have told Mitchell? Perhaps the same thing he is saying now...."Never happened"

This is my favorite...

CLEMENS I have I had no knowledge of what Andy was doing.

WALLACE Why would Brian McNamee tell the truth about Andy Pettitte and lie about you?

CLEMENS Andy's case is totally is, is totally separate. I was shocked to learn about Andy's situation. Had no idea about it.

The guy you train with every offseason, are best friends with, and use the same trainer and you plead ignorant?? WOW. I love how Roger didn't even answer the question. Distance yourself from Andy Pettite because the world knows how close you are.

Lidocaine, and B12. It's for my joints and and B12 I take still today. A lot of trainers—

Isn't B12 a masking agent for steroids?

Also did a great job dancing around the lie detector test. Its good and some say its bad. Yeah, your lawyer won't let you do a lie detector.

If Roger Clemens goes before a judge along with Brian McNamee and they tell this story...someone will face charges for not telling the truth. Brian McNamee has nothing to gain by not telling the truth. Roger Clemens has everything to gain by not being linked to steroids. McNamee's story could go either way and it wouldn't mean anything to him as long as he tells the truth. Roger Clemens only has one way to go so....there it is.

I heard on CBS Radio before 60 minutes aired that Clemens and McNamee have had a phone conversation. There is no news regarding the content of the discussion, but it happened between the filming and airing of the 60 Minutes segment. This is very interesting. I wouldn't put anything past Clemens. Maybe he'll attempt to buy off McNamee for a statement that he could have been mistaken.

Why, so McNamee could go to prison?

WALLACE How about a lie detector test?

CLEMENS Some say they're good. Some say they're not. Do whatever. I mean—

WALLACE So as far as you're concerned you would conceivably?

CLEMENS Yeah. I don't know if they're good or bad.

WALLACE Were you to pass a lie detector test, would that help prove that you're telling the truth and help restore?

CLEMENS Would it?

WALLACE I don't know.

CLEMENS I don't either.

What a liar haha. He just got me believing more that he in fact did steroids. Hey Roger you got off easy in the interview with Wallace. Expect to get tougher questions from Congress. I really cant wait for that

I guess "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.:"

I bet he'll pull a hammy or a groin or hurt his back or get a blister, etc. etc. on the his way to Congress.

1) LOL at your first statement.

2) LOL at your second statement.

You get an overall LOL to that post. Well done, sir.

My favourite part ( don't have the exact quote) - ' You would think I would get some respect for my 25 years service in public'.

uh - who are we talking about here - Mahatma Gandhi? He is one of the overpaid ballplayers - that means the people will fave complete faith in whatever crap he says?

Das, I was thinking about that statement too and wondered if it's:

- part of the denial process...I remember as a kid in trouble playing it up like that to get some relief

or

- is he so egotistical and self-centered/self-important that he truly believes he shouldn't be questioned after "all that he has done for the sport."

I'm leaning towards it being part of a very calculated approach to denying the allegations.

However, I find it hard to believe that Clemens would do the 60 minutes interview and immediately have his lawyers file a defamation of character suit if he were guilty.

"Go big or go home," a weightlifting term, might apply here...a soft-pedaled denial isn't going to convince anyone.

Perhaps Clemens knows there are only 2 people that know the truth...he and McNamee...and it'll always be, at most, a "his word against mine" issue.

That's going real big though. He will surely have to testify in the defamation of character case and could face 15 counts of perjury if he is lying and you can bet if he meets with congress the same questions will be asked of him. Is he that much of gambler to possibly face federal perjury charges?

If I understand Rogers ego ( and I hardly know him so likely I am wrong) - the answer is absolutely yes. He would rather go down on flames than admit that he used steroids. From a legal standpoint though - I think this is different than the Palmero case. Palmero was an idiot - he should not have said what he said in Congress knowing fully well that he has failed drug test. In Rogers case - this will be extremely difficult to bring a perjury case against him if he has not failed a drug test or he was smart enough to buy roids on cash unlike other boneheads who has left a money trail. I think he is betting that all will come down to public perception in this case. Initial verdict in public court is he is guilty and if he stands strong with his interviews and lawsuits - he thinks it will eventually change.

The only way I will change my opinion about Roger is if he ever takes a lie detector test(yeah I know they are not full proof ). Can't wait to see the buzzar go when he says ' God - I had no idea Andy was doing those HGH stuffs'.

Assuming he is guilty and there are others who know the truth or there is a paper trail or some other evidence...then that is the ultimate question.

Consider the source!! Shaughnessy is "so well connected" he didn't even know Clemens filed suit last night. He should get his facts straight and do his homework if he wants to be credible.

The lawsuit story broke early morning - I am not gonna hold that against him for not including it in his report.

Okay, I can agree to that, in part, the story broke at 6:45 this morning.
