Who are they? They sure look happy to be getting new shirts. :dunno:

Part of me wants to say how ludicrous it is to celebrate a "baller" like Dukes, a guy who's committed a 5 by 4, 5 kids by 4 baby-mommas. The other part isn't interested in the subsequent charge of "racism" from a suburban white kid without a clue.

You don't know me.

I didn't grow up in the suburbs.

I have a clue.

What does my race have anything to do with this thread?

ORS has a point when you make this thread and then cry racism in the "Clemens vs. Bonds" thread.

It's OK, you're in HS so I don't expect much in the form of maturity or common sense.

Oh really.

lol.

Framingham is not the suburbs. I spent my childhood there besides the center of town near town hall where all the Brazilians chill, it is a great town. Although I'm real happy I moved. I used to live near Framingham HS and I went to preschool there and thought it was okay. Last week I went there for a wrestling meet and the place smelled of urine.

Because the high school smells like piss Framingham is not the suburbs? It is the suburbs. Exurbs maybe, but its not the 'hood.

Boston isn't really next to Framingham/

I live in Wellesley. A small part of Natick keeps us from bordering each other. Trust me, I live in like the most "suburby" of suburbs. Most of Framingham is much more like Wellesley than a rough area.

Ah. I love Natick. Everything good was in Natick.

I went to Wellsley for some computer education lessons. I forget the name of the place.

So' date=' it's immature to make the case that there racism is alive in the national sports media? There are many who share the same belief, and they are both white and black...and not all in high school. This thread is pointless, but there's nothing racist about it..[/quote']

That's not what your case was. Your case was that people let Clemens off the hook because he is white, and hold Bonds accountable for his actions much more because he's black. That's what you were arguing.

Racism is alive in sports, but you shouldn't have played the racism card in the Clemens vs. Bonds instance because it's not true. People have been grilling Clemens.

Second' date=' I challenge anyone on here to explain to me how South Framingham=the suburbs.[/quote']

Not that I think areas of South Framingham are easy, I challenge YOU to explain how those areas are as bad as those of Springfield, Dorchester, and Roxbury. South Framingham as a whole is much more of a suburb than one of those areas.

Pretty much what SOTK said.

Would you have described the Rockies outfield of Matt Holliday Ryan Spilborghs, and Brad Hawpe as "ballin'"? If not, is there some inherent racism there? My answer is, yes.

I used to live in Framingham (I still wear my Framingham snow hat proudly in MN). Its not ghetto. Even Down-town. Just because there are Brazilians there doesnt make it ghetto. And yeah its like 20 miles from Boston. SUBURB

Also Bosox man though you may not have ment to you were being a bit stereotypical in making this thread.

Er... I live in Framingham now. Ghetto? Please. If you think Framingham is a ghetto that is absolute proof you have never set foot outside of a suburb in your life.

South Framingham includes downtown, which has tons of Brazilians and Hispanics. But just because those groups are there doesn't make it "ghetto." Framingham, ALL OF IT, is a suburb. There's a spot here or there that you wouldn't want to go to at night, but I could say the same thing about Newton Centre ... the safest town in America. It's a suburb.

My carpool got lost and it was a bunch of seniors so every person they saw on the streets that was funny looking would get ribbed in the car. We pulled over at this gas station to ask for directions and the guy calling the town "Framing" and the school "FrawmingHiSchool" was hilarious. I wouldn't call South Framingham the suburbs, but I'll give and say its not exactly what BoSox is pushing it as.

Although the thread was overall racist and pointless either way.

Didn't you say you lived in Newton a while back?

This is really back tracking, but you'd think the league would crack down on Pierce for being so high when that picture was taken. Look at him! I bet all he can of is his munchies right there.

-HAHAHA. Show me where I called South Framingham a "ghetto".

-Definition: A ghetto is an area where people from a specific racial or ethnic background are united in a given culture or religion live as a group, voluntarily or involuntarily, in milder or stricter seclusion

-I don't go to Framingham HS. I go to L-S.

-I would definitly call Matt Holliday a balla but not the other two.

-This thread is not racist.

-The media is being much easier on Clemens than Bonds...maybe you guys don't remember the media/fan immediate response when sources came out against Bonds? It is far from the same.

1) You know what I meant. Your use of the word "definitely" in saying "I definitely didn't grow up in the suburbs" is implying that you grew up in an area that is anything but a suburb...you're implying that you grew up in an environment completely unlike a suburb. Now, I'm not saying that you meant "ghetto", but you know what I meant. I put the word in quotes in my other post because I was exaggerrating. Why don't you explain the area that you say you grew up in? I define it as a suburb.

2) I know what a ghetto is. Thanks.

3) Ok.

4) Ok.

5) I don't think it's racist either...I think you were just joking around. But you do kind of put yourself in a corner by playing the race card in the other thread, and then turning around and making this thread.

6) I remember the responses pretty well for both players. I find them to be close to the same. Fans grilled Clemens, and the media was all over the story. There are two differences I can think of at the top of my head between the two cases: 1) Clemens had teammates come to his defense, and Bonds didn't. This could be due to the fact that Bonds is a bad teammate, and a bad person, which leads me to my second point. 2) Clemens is not a dick to the media like Bonds is. Clemens doesn't come off as a dick as much as Bonds does. This has nothing to do with their skin color - the media may grill Bonds a little more because all he's ever done is bitch about how much the media sucks. Clemens keeps to himself more often than not. It has nothing to do with their respective races, and everything to do with the perception of their character.

Ok. Explain. With cited material.

Actually, if you want to be technical about it...that's the precise definition of a ghetto. "Ghetto" has a connotation placed upon it now as being a crime-ridden slum-like area, but it actually only means a place predominantly inhabited by members of an ethnic or other minority group.

On second thought...forget I posted anything. This argument is annoying and hardly deserved my attention one way or another. Go back to your bickering boys.
