C'mon, considering his dramatic change in size, who's to say that Alex Rodriguez could liegitimately be on this list while maintaining that David Ortiz isn't? At least be fair about it. You wanna point fingers at the star players on the rival team at least entertain the possibility that you may have some players of your own listed, either that or just shut your mouth.

As for the Mike & Mike thing, which I too have been stuck on all morning, it seems as if ccording to the Bergen Record that it will be a pretty earth-shattering day in the Bronx. So it may be fair to think that A-Rod may possibly be on this list, especially considering that A-Rod had worked out at the home gym of Jose Canseco back in '98-ish. Clemens or Pettitte maybe? I wouldn't be shocked to see LaTroy Hawkins (not that he's a prominent Yankee) named, maybe some of the guys from the 90's championship teams. I'm anxiously awaiting 2p.m. And while no current Mets on the 40 man roster are named, considering their biggest informant is Kirk Radomsky, i'm sure there'll be some former Mets named. IDK why, but one name that for some reason has made an appearance in my head is maybe Roberto Alomar? I can see a few guys on that '02 Mets roster being named for sure, as well as going back throughout the duration of the 90's. At this point I can't even speculate anymore. All that we know is that today is going to be a historic day in Baseball, so everyone brace yourselves. While there was no due process in the investigation, for whatever reason the players named are named. Let's just be prepared..at this point I think it best that nobody be surprised by what is revealed throughout the duration of the day.

The reason I don't list Ortiz is because I honestly do not believe he took any steroids. Now when the report is released and if his name is on there, yeah, I'll be shattered, I'll be angery, and I'd really feel like I was cheated by someone who seem so down to Earth and caring for not only the game but the people who watched.

I think what makes me lean more at A-Rod is his attitude and past events, just his overall actions. And now I could be wrong, he may not be on that list, and if that's the case, all due apologies for the blame.

I just wish 2pm would hurry up, 1pm my time.

And Crunchy, I'm not blaming people for the steroid issue in general, I'm saying everyone is to blame for not taking quicker action against it.

All I ask is that Manny and Papi aren't on that list. I don't care about anyone else. Just no Papi and no Manny. I mean, no one listed on the Sox would be great as well. But no Manny or Papi for the most.

So if a player's name is NOT on the list will you assume that he's never used performance enhancing drugs?

What a day it's gonna be for those poor innocent reporters who are gonna have to trek across town all day in this snow storm. Mitchell's conference is at the Grand Hyatt, Selig's is at the Waldorf, and Fehr's is at the Intercontinental. poor guys

The Bergen Record reported that "several" prominent Yankees players would be named at this afternoon's news conference. No Mets from the current were expected to be named, a source told the Record.

My take - Rocket is included for sure. I would say A-Rod is 50%.

Clemens is first name out...

BTW I'm not shocked by his name being on it, theres not many players that would.

Via Mike and Mike' date=' Clemens busted...[/quote']

That will explain the hammy sighting at convenient times. CYA Copperstown. So glad red sox did not sign him last year or the year before.

What kind of sucker Cashman looks now and how Steinberner feels about spending 28 million on him?

Oh yeah - I want another dropped call commercial with Cashman involving steroids.

Breaking News- Buster Olney was on Mike and Mike in the morning that Roger Clemens name will be listed on Mitchell report. Former Trainer of Roger Clemens George Mcnamee obtained Steriods.

He is also the trainer for Pettite - I am loving this so far.

Nice thread in the Yankee board. As much as everone hates Bonds - if there is no HOF for him then there is no HOF for Clemens also. I totally agree - you will have to be fair and just and not look at the images/perception only.

Oh God no, I know there's players out there that used that won't be listed. That's no lie.

And just saw the Report... Clemens is through. So long Hall of Fame.

I hear you Thump, a lot of people will be hurt or pissed. Not me.

If Ortiz is on it I won't bat an eye.

If Manny is on it I don't care.

If I was an MLB player faced with the prospect of making millions for a bunch of years or being an also-ran, I can pretty much guarantee I'd have used what others were using...hell, ego alone would say don't let these guys outperform me by using something that I could be using too. There is simply too much money and too much fame/adulation at stake.

In fact, egos being what they are, if the rate of use was not ridiculously high I'd submit that someone "clean" would have turned on these guys a long time ago out of jealousy regarding the numbers they were putting up. Players aren't so stupid that they don't realize when a guy walks into spring training, even as little as 10-15 lbs heavier but f***ing ripped, that they're using something. If it was the exception, not the rule, I have to believe that someone would have rolled.

Unfortunatley the list is only going to scratch the surface in terms of who used and as such I will still suspect many players who are not on the list. Depending on how far back this goes I could see the list including any of the following:

Yankees: Pettitte, Giambi, ARod, Jeter, Posada, Damon, Cano, Clemens, Mienkxxxxx, Abreu

Sox: Foulke, Youk, Nomar, Nixon, Tek, Crisp, Manny, Ortiz

Then you have the guys such as Luis Gonzalez, Thome, Berkman, Tejada, Juan Gon, Andrue Jones, Sosa, Jeff Kent, Pujols, Bagwell, Sexson, Edmunds, Palmiero, Sheffield, Justice, Carl Everett, Burnitz, Salmon, Troy O'Leary, Albert Belle, Delgado, Rolen, Jaret Wright, Kevin Brown, Helling, etc. etc. etc. As I've mentioned before this doesn't even touch on the issue of fringe players who might have used PEDs just to get to the bigs. Or the guys whose HR totals hit double digits only because they were using.

Cashman: Roger! So glad you decided to come back with us! Excited to start pitching?

Clemens: (Voice Dropped): Well Brian... I need to come clean... I've been using roids for the past year... I think that'll hurt the Yankees' image.

Cashman: ... So... you're as speechless as your wife was, huh?

I liked my Rodriguez one better.

I would give anything for Derek Jeter to be on the list.

Don't think you'll need to give anything. Jeter got there himself.

Thought I really don't think he would be one on the list, it wouldn't surprise me if he was.

And will gentlement of "First Out" please shut up.

man this is gonna be a dark day in baseball. I actually would feel pretty sad if Ortiz was on that list. I hate the guy but i seriously absolute respect his game.

as for Roger, eh i actually dont care

now if petite was on there...

please let ARod be on that list so that Hank can see the light and not sign off on that $275M mistake.

You guys have nothing to worry about. George Mitchell works for the Red Sox. I'd be stunned if theres a Red Sox named outside of maybe Gabe Kapler.

So you honestly think Mitchell will be biased?

I have no idea however I am a little annoyed they picked someone who has a connection to an organization already.

BTW is anyone really shocked about Clemens?

I don't know, I think Mitchell is a credible person who can be trusted. He's done work like this before and ripped everyone a new one. I don't think he's gonna baby any one person or team. As much as I'd LIKE him to hide any possible Sox users for my own emotional reasons, I doubt he will.

And I was not the least bit surprised in Clemens. I saw that coming from a long ways.

One could make the case that there'd be a greater chance that Sox player's are named in order to add credibility to the report.

IMO, a lack of Sox players named would simply mean they didn't get caught and a bevy of Sox named would just mean a higher percentage of Sox players using got caught in this particular investigation.

Mitchell has too much to lose in terms of credibility to f*** with the report.

I'm pretty sure that there won't be any present prominent Sox named.

My guess is Nomar, Trot, Kapler, Derek Lowe, and Todd Walker.

Current and former sox who might be on the list PURELY GUESSING:

Kapler

Damon

Walker

Bellhorn

Mueller

Nomar

Renteria

Beckett

Luckily for the sox, the majority of this list seems to be a result of new york clubhouses, which 1) is generally kept at a distance from the sox and 2) we haven't acquired many former new york players. I'm glad that pitchers are finally being looked at since they always just look at sluggers.

I actually hope A-rod isnt on the list for 2 reasons.

1) He'll still sign with the yanks but for less money

2) I want the next all time home run slugger to be clean

I really hope Pedro isn't on this list

I really hope Griffey isn't on this list

I'm glad Clemens is on the list

I really hope Scott Boras is on the list.
