Schilling did suck.

Awesome...but everyone says "game over" once Gagne gives up a hit?

Whatever guys. Schilling was awful tonight and didn't help the team at all.

Goodbye Lopez, goodbye Gagne in the offseason

Gagne with the Sox

20 games (2-2, 4 blown saves, 7.29 ERA)

21 innings, 30 Hits, 17 Runs, 1 HR, 11 Walks, 27 Ks

So proud you can look up stats on the internets.

This is really depressing. We should have won this game. We can't get 1 run against a pitcher with a 4.60 ERA and a .283 OBA. With our 3-4-5 coming up. Pathetic.

We can talk about Schilling sucking, but why are you so offended when people point out the obvious fact that Eric Gange has been detremental to this team. No one can argue that fact, whatsoever.

Tavarez should be on this roster. We have 4 guys that are dead weight taking up spots : Gagne -- just a POS, Lopez-- another POS, Lester-- not a reliever, and Wakefield-- we need to see Beckett get 3 starts.

Believe it or not we probably weren't going to win every postseason game.

FTR I'm not defending Gagne. I'm past that point and think he's been atrocious and will continue to be atrocious.

But like my JD Drew/Jason Varitek rant, it's complete crap to jump on one and not the other.

Nope. It's all on Schilling. I imagine he'll be the first to admit it. W/ diagrams. And a 4 page diatribe. It's his loss and really do we need to ever see Eric pitch again? Blame Canada. This one is on Curt.

Sure, they both sucked tonight. But with Gagne its a continous thing. He sucks one night, and we continue to use him, hoping he'll improve and he doesn't. However with Schilling, hes normally very trustworthy in the playoffs, just didn't come up tonight. Thats basically why there's less ragging on him.

This is a good point. I have no counter-argument for this.

Thing is, the guys getting jumped on haven't helped .... at all. The guys who appear to be getting a pass have something in the bank. That's generally how it works.

If Schilling gives the team a QS then Gagne doesn't see the game.

6 runs off of Carmona/Perez should have done the job.

We were one Sizemore catch away from winning the game.

Win Monday in Cleveland.

edit - And I can understand the "money in the bank" argument, however saying "Game over" when Gagne gives up a single? I thought people here were better than that.

And like I said there was not one (ok, maybe one) negative post about Schilling's start tonight.

I'm sure the Sox FO still thinks Nixon can't hit lefthanded pitching.

Gagne has no place on this team and I still cannot understand why Lopez is still in the big leagues.

Nixon can't hit left handed pitching, but I guess Lopez's suckyness against lefties out weighed that fact this time.
