10/5 @ Cleveland: Jacko's Revenge

Really rough game. The only thing that bothers me from a managerial standpoint is the way Torre managed the 8th. I think it was pretty clear from the first batter on that Joba was having a lot of trouble dealing with the bugs (before everyone gets all over me, I'm not using it as an excuse, it's Joba's fault he couldn't deal with the bugs), so Mo should have been in the game at some point before it was tied.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jacko is dressed like a ninja and he is planning on kidnapping Torre before he boards the team plan and not releasing him until the post season is over.

Dude, Torre is absolutely horrible. Why play Matsui instead of Giambi at DH? Why not let Rivera go one more inning instead of the wild Vizcaino? The Yankees were lucky to be in this game at all. They were thoroughly outclassed, he has been horrible. Why bring in Joba when Pettitte has been amazing. HE HAS TO GO. NOW. BEFORE GAME 3.

This is not a championship caliber team. See ya next year, Yankees. Enjoy retirement, Mr. Torre.

No...Fausto was "spectacular" Pettitte was lucky several times. He got himself out of some jams and the Tribe choked on more than one occasion. About 12. That's your big game pitcher. Said w/out sarcasm. He's your 1. Period. Regardless of Jacko's proclamations of the sinkerball pitcher's stature.

With bated breath I anxiously await the pullled hammy in inning 2 of your 28 million dollar whore rental. BTW....not the greatest pitcher in Red Sox history. Not by a mile.

Also, way to bail on your team. MWID.

Clemens deserves more respect than this. He deserves to be referred to as a HOF Whore.

This is why players leave Boston. You guys don't appreciate what the player did for you. He didn't leave, you guys told him you would rather have Pedro. It's not like he left because he he didn't want to come back. Same with Damon. Figures.

Bailing on my team? I'm going to the game on Sunday, but I don't think they have a chance in hell of bringing it back to Cleveland.

Oh God here comes the trollish posts "Boston fans dont appreciate their past players"

Last I checked, Millar and Cabrera to this day are still getting standing ovations when tehy come to Fenway. Ok with Clemens and Damon... of course we're going to boo them, they went to the arch rival team

Yes it was Sox fans who ran Roger out of town, not the deviosu front office who termed "twilight of his career". Duh of course Id have Pedro in his prime over Roger any day. But uh Boston didnt get Pedro that same offseason

Oh, okay. Clemens isn't a world class mercenary HOF Whore? He left you guys for a new Hummer after he carted away a tractor trailor load of Yankee gifts.

Yeesh.

Clemens last years in Boston. Old Fat f***. Horrid he was.

93. 11-14

94 9-7

95 10-5 w/ a 4.18

96 10-13.

Cy Young the next year to go home to be near the children in Texas via Toronto. MC's mantra's of his many failures during the playoffs need no more entries.

Damon is a boob. Left legendary status to be a no name for the bright lights because his agent is smarter than the average bear and sure to be indicted in some scandal w/in ten years. Get the facts straight. He was never given the Sox final offer because his buddy didn't let him have one. It's called being erudite and reading between the lines. And also..HA

Give him a break, talie. He usually gets his ego massaged by his team's superiority, and we see that's out the window. He needs another source.

The bug situation was a shame... a damn shame. Joba could have some serious insect bites. I heard that the trainer is giving him a Calamine Lotion bath. Joba's dad was seen crying in the stands. The human interest story continues.

I don't think those bugs bite, though. And Curtis Granderson said the Off! doesn't help against them and that the only real solution would've been to wipe the guys off with a towel. The bugs are no excuse... irritating? Probably... but they shouldn't make a guy as good as Joba get as wild as he did. Nobody else had a problem with the insects.

Jeter on the bugs

"Just when you think you've seen it all, you see something new," New York shortstop Derek Jeter said. "I guess that's the home-field advantage for them -- just let the bugs out in the eighth inning. It worked."

I think the grapes have soured.

Until I read that quote, I though the Yanks still had a shot to at least take this series to 5 games, but I am changing my opinion. If Captain Intangibles has been reduced to whining, it's over.

Is it possible that A-Rod is going to get booed in Yankee Stadium at some point in the next game?
If he opts out, it will be because of the shoddy treatment of the yankee fans. They booed Winfield and drove him out of town too. Isn't that right, Gom?

If the Yanks lose and Rod doesn't get a hit' date=' do you think he'll come back?[/quote']

No sir I do not. Especially since I think if he doesn't get a hit he'll hear be hearing some boos.

Maybe, but Joba got two outs before the run scored...can you really fault Torre for leaving Joba in (who's been a beast down the stretch) to get one last out?

BTW I'm thoroughly disappointed this thread got more posts.
