Well, since it is getting down to the wire, here's the way the four team seeding is as of 9/23:

Guardians 92-63 [4 games @ Seattle, 3 games @ K.C.]

Red Sox 92-64 [2 vs Oakland, 4 vs Minesota]

Angels 92-64 [3 @ Texas, 3 @ Oakland]

Yankees 90-65 [1 vs Toronto, 3 @ T.B., 3 @ Orioles]

In case of a regular season tie for record:

Guardians win: NONE

Guardians tie: Angels [5-5 head-to-head] I don't know who won the coin toss.

Guardians lose: Yankees, Red Sox

Red Sox win: Guardians, Angels

Red Sox lose: Yankees

Angels win: Yankees

Angels tie: Guardians

Angels lose: Red Sox

Yankees win: Guardians, Red Sox

Yankees lose: Angels

Hope this helps.

So the reality is the loss column...in that case, the Red Sox are one back of the Guardians, and one ahead of the Yankees and Angels. The Yankees are two back of the Guardians and Angels, and one behind the Red Sox.

we can rule the yanks from getting the best record ' date=' their now down 3 in the loss column to the Guardians[/quote']

When they have 6 against Baltiless and the RAAAAys, I won't count them out yet.

The Yankees drop to two behind the Red Sox with yesterday's loss. I was at the game, but it seemed like the Yankees weren't.That being said, I felt like I was watching Yankee baseball in the early 90's. Only 12,000 or so at first pitch, and only 23,000 the whole game. I haven't seen Yankee stadium that empty in 15 years.

Even though they lost, what an absolutely gorgeous day to see a game. The weather was absolutely perfect.

Mariners piss away a golden opportunity, 1st and 3rd 1 out.

Leadoff walk for the Tribe in the top of the 12th.

Guardians score on a Lofton SF, set up by an awful throwing error.

Looks like the Yankees get the wildcard. It's up to the other three to decide the seeding at this point.

Mariners won the nightcap last night, beating Borowski again.

There is now a tie for the best record in the AL, and we own the tiebreaker.

I'd rather the Red Sox win the tiebreaker and decide the series that goes longer with the Angels, so we get the shorter series with the Guardians.

Why would the Sox extend a series against the Angels?

After Lackey and Escobar there isn't much there for LAAAAAAA.

Besides, if we give you the longer series you get CC and Carmona twice.

I think you'd want Beckett and Schilling available for two games. Also, the extra day helps with travel, it is a cross-country series, and the Red Sox are the older team and could probably use it. Anyways, you know your team better than me.

Moose and Ole Blood and Guts are 83 years old combined. Mo is no spring chicken either. Your team is far more geriatric than ours. But, thanks for the concern.

I don't think he was comparing the Yankees to the Red Sox in terms of age.

That's the nice thing about having 3 potential top of the rotation guys. I don't think the Sox particularly care whether Schilling or Dice-K can pitch more than once. Beckett, yes, but either of those guys in a game makes this team able to win. It is the offense that will need to carry them from there.

Right. As I understand it he was comparing us with the Angels, no?

Right. As I understand it he was comparing us with the Angels' date=' no?[/quote'] Yeah. Not only that, but an east coast team is usually at a disadvantage when traveling out west. Maybe it's just me, but it always seems like the western teams have an easier time adjusting to the time difference and whatnot.

Against the Angels, I'd strongly consider taking the extra day.

Another idiot. Is there no end to them? Compared to the Angels, dumbass.

All the Angels can do is ride whatever their offense can accomplish. The rotation is iffy to do anything big. Lackey will be the game 1 starter. The Sox are the team he doesnt want to be facing, especially at Fenway Park. He's a Cy Young to everyone else but something doesnt go right when he heads to Boston. Escobar is having injury woes and might not be able to start in the ALDS. Bartolo Colon would then have to step into his place. Sox should take this in 3 or 4 games

The Sox are tied with the Guardians for the best record. Really all they need to do is win 1 of these last 2 games of the season' date=' as Boston would clinch homefield because of the season series record[/quote']

No...the Magic number for HFA is two.

I'd rest Ortiz, Lowell, Varitek, and Drew definitely, and do what they've been doing with Manny.

NO , if they win 1 of 2 and the Guardians win both of theirs , we lose homefield
