Ahhh. My bad on the gamethread...

I had a wedding to go to today and totally forgot. The good news is that I met this really cool chick from Boston there and we talked Red Sox for about half an hour, at which point I said to myself, "Damn Rooter, you were supposed to start the gamethread today!!!!!!"

Looks like the game went on without me.

Francona is an idiot. The guy has been bombed [Dice K], he's been tired, it's obvious to me, and I'm a Yankee fan. Instead of taking him out, giving him that mental boost for a well pitched game, he keeps him in when he's tired. Give credit to Pena, to battle back from 0-2 to make it a full count and take Lopez out was huge.

This loss, if it ends this way, is completely on Francona. Hopefully we get back the game we lost yesterday. After Beckett, your rotation is a mess.

Umm Schilling since he's come back from the DL

8 games (2-4, 3.55 ERA)

50.2 innings, 50 Hits, 21 Runs (20 ER), 8 HRs, 4 Walks, 24 Ks

where is there any indication that Buchholz is going to be starting a playoff game?

There isn't. That's just his choice.

Two wins, four losses. You consider that something spectacular?

I have to say, Beckett has been downright filthy all year. Other than that, in the second half, you guys have been average at best.

Against the Guardians, you pretty much lose every pitching matchup. Against the Angels, you win with Beckett, lose with the others. Unless Manny comes back and plays like Manny can, you guys are finished before the playoffs start.

Yes the W-L record means he has been a s***** pitcher. He's gotten lack of run support and some s***** bullpen backup when he's been out there.

Sorry your predictions have never held water here, why should we start listening now

Damn it...well, at least it was Varitek, my favorite Sox. LOL! Hopefully, you guys play 237 innings today.

I've always wondered about this. You hate the Sox a lot (as it's well within you're right to with the rivalry, lol), but who are your favorite Sox player(s)? Tek obviously, and anyone else?

I like Tek the most. I can like a player, just not the uniform he wears. I like hard-nosed players who play the game, lead by example, and let it all out on the field. Jeter is our example. Tek is yours. I think most Red Sox fans, whether they care to admit it or not to others, admire Jeter. A lot of us admire Tek. I'm not ashamed to admit that.

As for the others, Manny, I just think he is the "Rain Man" of baseball, I am starting to really like Pedroia. I liked a lot of your old guys, Millar, Mueller, Damon. I can't stand Ortiz or Papelbon, they seem like whiners to me.

Right now, I really hate Lugo, lol. Nice shot, though.
