well its time for raja to show us all what a gamer he is

when is he scheduled to go?

game 3. It's Wang, Petitte and Ol' Blood & Guts.

Posted

game 3?

if theyre up 2-0 he'll pitch well

if theyre down 2*0 he'll leave by the 4th holding his arm like rodney playing against the doctor and the judge""OH OHH MY ARM MY ARM"""

and then for the rest of the game we can hear tim mccarver scrubbing the balls of this fraud

It's funny how you guys call Clemens a fraud when he is arguably the best pitcher to ever don a Red Sox uniform.

How about Schilling with red paint on his sock? Both of these guys are hard core gamers. If they can move, they'll play.

Definitely the over. I see six complete inning for Roger, 4 hits, 3 BB, 2 runs. Exiting with a 5-2 lead.

Pedro is easily the best pitcher to ever wear a Sox uni, and it's not particularly close.

i dont mind most of the ******** you throw up here but to compare schilling who stapled his ankle tendon and risked his career while ending an 86 year championship drought

to raja

who has left a half dozen playoff games in 3 different uniforms with mysterious ailments ranging from blisters in shea to the groin acting up in chicago to a yeast infection while in n pinstripes against the a's doesnt deserve a comment ......

but i feel compelled to enlighten today.

raja clemens is a f***ing fraud and he will again display all of this again on stage for you yankee fans who are acting more and more like pavlovs dog...

the 28,000,000.00 man who was 5-5 is being called for 1 more trip into humiliation as if the 2005 world series game 1 wasnt enuff....as if game 7 in 2004 against suppan wasnt enuff as if the 2003 game 7 effort against petey wasnt enuff....

""gotta give up to that warrior clemens, despite being down 5-0 in the 1st inning he wants to press on depsite his cranky _______________ which has been bothering him since the 90 playoffs against oakland""

see what josh beckett did yesterday

this is what big game pitchers do

petitte did it years ago and is still capable of doing it again, mussina did it when raja had to leave game 7 in 03,

what was wrong that night??was that his hammy or his ailing right shoulder??....

so many games

so many excuses but i dont recall any of them leading to surgery like schilling had

clemens threw a 1 hitter against seattle 6 years ago

his best post season effort

he pithced game 4 in 99 against atlanta up 3-0 and spotted a 7 run lead....

but if you want an indication on how valuable and clutch raja clemens is consider this

he was an underdog in the 2004 nlcs game 7 against jeff suppan...

JEFF SUPPAN

a man we left off our 03 playoff roster for obvious reasons.

the reason clemens was a dog is simple

nobody who uses their own money would bet on this f***ing fraud in the playoffs

so sit back and enjoy the ride

i promise i wont be the 1st person to remind you when he fails that i told you so

Can this be parlayed with the O/U on what inning his bowels explode?

LMAO!

the "rocket" a clever nickname

name given when he launched his ass out of boston because he wanted to play closer to home

he flunked geography and he flunked at any attempt for me to give him any respect after that move

INTEGRITY INTEGRITY

what ?

Where is your INTEGRITY?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$

we will see what ails him this time

is there a wheel barrow small enuff to carry off his blown left nut?

fingernail blister hammy elbow or maybe he will throw a bat at someone and get tossed

he doesnt go 5 innings

Posted

how faaaaaaaaakin apropriate

the myth

the man

the raja

fooled you dip shits again didnt he....

it sucks and all to be a yank fan but blame cashman and the steinberger for making this move

Posted

"fooled you dip shits again didnt he...."

some people never learn.....sph

i say send him out there again tonite!

dont ya just love him?

Are you serious? You can say that Pedro had the best YEARS as a member of the Sox, but to say he's the best PITCHER to ever put on a Sox uniform is so far from true it's ridiculous. Clemens is, quite possibly, the best pitcher EVER. Look at his stats. Look at the numbers.

Oh...and I think that Cy Young once played for the Sox as well. I won't argue for Cy, in that the game was entirely different then so you can't compare stats from then to stats from the recent era...but it warrants mentioning anyways.

It depends on how you define the best pitcher. Pedro, when he was healthy, was better than them all, ever. Clemens had a better career because you don't have to qualify it with the "healthy" tag. He stayed healthy, so he was good for longer. But he was never close to as good as Pedro was at his peak.

Yes, let's look at numbers. Look at the career list for the following categories: Winning %, WHIP, Hits/9 innings, K's/9 innings, and Adjusted ERA. Tell me where Clemens or even Cy Young are in those categories. Pedro is in the top 3 of all those categories, except where he has just barely slipped to # 4 behind Ryan in Hits/9innings. Also, tell me if there are any other statistical categories that are better indicators of a pitcher's worth. He's not only the best pitcher to wear a Red Sox uniform, but the best of all time. I saw the Rocket from his rookie year and I watched all the big pitchers from the 60's. None of them can claim to better than Pedro.

Edit: These numbers go beyond his prime. His prime was other-worldy, and frankly, his career numbers are close to other-worldy.

If you want to give it to Clemens, I guess you could do it based on longevity. However, in the time he was in Boston, Pedro Martinez was easily the best pitcher.

As for Cy Young, you do know the stat of ERA+ compares ballparks and the eras the game was played in, correct?
Pitcher|Career ERA+

P. Martinez|160

R. Clemens|143

C. Young|138
I think 1999 Pedro was the most dominant pitching performance I will ever see. They should show more old school pedro dominance on NESN.

The 1999 All-Star Game still gives me goosebumps. Pedro was just flat out ridiculous.

Clemens...more wins, more ks, more cy youngs, one more WS ring, an MVP, more All-Stars.

I'm not claiming that matching them up in their prime wouldn't put Pedro ahead of Clemens...it would. All I'm saying is that Clemens is, notably, a BETTER pitcher. Clemens has been better for longer. Pedro's body is already broken down and he's 9 years Clemens' junior. Is there not something to be said for longevity?

I'm not limiting the comparison to their primes. Pedro has had a long career, over 3,000 k's and 200 + wins. All of his key indicator ratios and measures are better than Clemens over their careers, not just their primes. The only #'s where Clemens is better are cumulative stats from pitching into his 40's. If you stopped Clemens career 9 years ago, all his numbers would lag Pedro.

Ask Trevor Hoffman.

Look, if you can't see the fact that Pedro's time here was better than Clemens's, I don't know what I can tell you.
