This announcer is garbage. I don't know his name. On the 3-2 pitch that was low he says "That was not a strike earlier in the inning, nor is it a strike now. It was a strike last night though".

So basically what he's saying is that last night's umpire had a lower strike zone than tonight's umpire, and tonight's umpire has been consistent.

Michael Kay, you have competition in Boston when it comes to idiocy.

I missed it because I was on the phone. Are you sure you are getting the NESN feed and not the MASN feed. That sounds like something Palmer would say.

No it was the NESN feed. I unlock the Boston channels to get NESN on Dish.

At this point Wake should be the game 3 starter

Dice-K's last 5 starts-- 9.66 ERA (Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay, New York, Toronto, Baltimore)

26.1 innings, 32 Hits, 28 Runs, 6 HRs, 14 Walks, 20 Ks

They may be forced to go that way if Dice K keeps stinking the place out. The knuckleball is such a crapshoot. It scares me when we have to pin our hopes on it.

It will be interesting to see how they play it if Dice's endurance for the longer MLB season is done. Buck will be the best option to fill in, but they've got his workload limit to consider. Personally, I don't know if the risk of injury associated with 20 extra innings is enough to tank the season, and without Dice effective, that's essentially what would happen. When you are built on pitching, you kind of need it to be good.

Hes been running on fumes for almost a month now. 4 out of his last 5 starts have been downright awful (tonight, Sept.3 7ER in 5.1IP, August 28th 5ER in 6.1IP, and August 15th with 6ER in 6IP). Its clear the kid has run out of gas. With the division so close to being decided....spot start Tavarez, or the kid (Clay) till he reaches his maximum amount of innings for the season. We need Dice-K to be right for October and it is obvious that over his last month or so that there is something wrong, and I assume its a tired shoulder from the workload.

Dice-K serves no purpose out there throwing s***** innings right now when it comes to October if hes tired. Give him the rest of September off so hes ready to go in October.

I've said this before...we need to be within 2 games when we face the Sox for the opener if we are to have a shot at the division. I doubt we will make up 3 1/2 games by Friday, lol.

As it stands right now, I say the sox playoff rotation should be Beckett, Schilling, Wake, then DiceK. I would actually almost rather have Lester pitch in the fourth slot right now as opposed to Matsuzaka.

The Devil Rays will be facing the Sox after today

Schilling vs Kazmir

Wakefield vs Sonnanstine

Lester vs Jackson

Let me guess, another assurance of Tampa Bay taking 2 of 3 or even sweeping?
