especially after that call on Cano with the bases loaded and a full count. That umpire should be fired on the spot' date=' that ball wasnt even close. Cost us a run at least.[/quote']

Hey I got an idea. Make a videotape of all the bad calls that went against your team and threaten to bring them to the commissioner's office.

It's a great idea....where have I heard it before...?

I can see it now... A little automated machine behind the plate making calls. It calls a strike on A-Rod and he turns around and starts arguing with the machine.

So now if the homeplate ump is out of the game, who gets to throw players out if they wanna bitch over a bad call?

I was caught up in the moment, umpires are a part of the game and should never be removed. But, should the game go automated with instant replay or a laser level strike zone, then there would be no bad calls. Nobody could argue.

Never happen, bad for the game. Baseball is about mistakes and failures. That's what makes it great. I have no problem with instant replay for plays in the field, but not for balls and strikes.

agreed 100%. umpires are part of the game, good calls or bad. They add anotehr element to the game, though i do agree with replay for plays in the field.

Somebody at some point would argue. People are stupid like that.
