I know he doesn't fit what you were saying they need but I was really hoping Brandon Lloyd would break out for you guys. I thought he was a superstar waiting to break out when he was with the 49ers, who are my second favorite team, but it just hasn't happened and it doesn't look like it's going to. He sure can make spectacular grabs, though...

That catch still makes my jaw drop.

Haha, you know what's funny about that catch? It got called back because of a holding call.

That's true. The catch itself though was still amazing. I can't find a good picture of his catch against the Seahawks, though.

edit: Falcons signed Leftwich. Who didn't see that one coming since the second Leftwich was cut?

mcnabb also has a better winning % than the all time greatest qb in indianappolis and up till last february had better post season success

but he didnt get it done and thats what we remember

just remember the town he plays in booed mike schmidt after a world series win,500 hrs and a fist full of mvps

he has a right to bitch but he picked the wrong venue and the wrong time for sure

he never looked worse than he did last night

its as if he lost the will to compete

i hate philly and im not a mcnabb guy but i dont think that he's completly out of line here

the venue wasnt proper nor the timing but the message isnt all that off

The one thing about Brandon Lloyd is this: he makes great catches, but that's because he has to. If you watch him, he doesn't run his routes that well, and he can't shake defenders at all. Almost every catch he makes has to be difficult because he's not that good of a route runner. There's no denying he's made some fantastic plays and he has some pretty good hands, but he just isn't that good overall. At least that's the vibe that I get from him.

The way he's played... he deserves every ounce of criticism he gets' date=' regardless of his skin color.[/quote']

agreed

this year he has no bitch about the press but he certainly has earned the right to defend himself and speak out.

he reminds me very much of marvin haglers opponents

the pats and hagler have a lot in common

once you fight them in the title match you're generally finished

see mcnabb, jake delhomme and curt warner?

after fighting the fight of his life against the patriots in the superbowl

he's had nothing

see tommy hearns ray leonard john mugabe cyclone hart willy the worm monroe mustafa hamsho or don"'caveman"" lee or 50 other stiffs i can mention for further evidence.

andy reid and mcnabb both seem completely disinterested

Green Bay does the AFC a favor.

You're welcome.

I'm starting to think that they're just not that good. Schottenheimer may not be great in the post-season, but Norv Turner just plain f***ing sucks.

That said, the Packers are looking REALLY good so far.

Broncos suck...

Can't stop the run, can't stop the pass on third down... the playcalling is god-awful.

4th and 1 from inside the 5 yardline... you call your final time out of the game (in the third quarter) and the absolute best thing you can come up with is a QB sneak?! It's hard to take Shanahan seriously sometimes when he pulls s*** like that.

On another note, Brandon Marshall's going to be a great player in this league.

And somehow, my originally terrible fantasy football team on another forum looks poised to advance to 3-0.

I hesitate to write off any team with LT, Merriman, etc. I feel these struggles fall on the shoulders of Norv Turner.

That said, the Chargers DID beat the Bears....

Oh, I didn't mean that the talent wasn't there. Let me re-phrase myself:

The Chargers aren't a well-coached team, and therefore they may not be that good. The talent is certainly there though. If Marty was still there, they'd be a lot better. Yeah, they beat the Bears but I think Dallas will tonight, also.

I don't mean to take anything away from the Packers. If I had to choose right now, I'd pick them to go to the Superbowl. Favre is on FIRE and that defense looks impenetrable at times. Maybe Favre was onto something when he said, of that young team, that it was one of the most talented teams he had ever been a part of. Maybe he really saw something. The Packers, IMO (if Favre plays another year to his level), would be the best team in the NFC hands down next year. Even right now I consider them superbowl contenders.

I'd like that' date=' but I'm not ready to annoint them NFC Champs yet. Their lack of a running game troubles me.[/quote']

Yeah, I didn't mean to already call them NFC champs, just that they'll definitely be up there in the NFC at the end of the season.

EDIT: In other news, the Redskins have been getting absolutely tossed around by the Giants in the second half.

I can empathize with See Red. Gibbs two attempts to stuff it in from the 2 at the end of the game were kind of pathetic. Very vanilla play calling, which, when you get down to the bottom of it, is Gibbs all the way. Which is part of the reason they came back in the 2nd half. When he has a lead it's, run, run, pass, punt.

Shanahan's got balls... going for it on 4th and 5 from their own ten yardline with 5 minutes left. I liked the playcall, no matter what the announcer said... and you can't throw the ball any better than Cutler did and Daniel Graham just lost it. Stupid mistakes cost the Broncos the game. Selvin Young's fumble towards the end of the second quarter, Hixon's fumble to start the 3rd... 6 points served on a platter to Jacksonville.

I said Brandon Marshall's going to be great and I stand by that. 6'5", 230 with 4.4 speed and he can make plays with the ball in his hands. Cutler can make any throw on the field but stupid mistakes and penalties put the team in 2nd and 3rd in long way too often. Didn't put them selves into positions where they could run the football with Henry.

Once the team puts it all together, more likely next year than this year, they're going to be a very good team.

Packers are going to win the NFC. Brett Favre is going to lead my fantasy team of misfits to the promise land.

This bandwagon's gettin kinda crowded....lol

I don't want them to do it :D . I just want Brett Favre to keep kicking ass. They clearly look like the best team in the NFC so far. Dallas ain't too great against the Pass and if Favre keeps it up, they sure as hell won't be able to stop the Pack's passing attack.

Does anyone notice the similarity between Tony Homo and Grossman? All the things Grossman gets ripped for, throwing off the back foot, winging it, throwing across his body, etc, Homo does these things every series and gets away with it. It's really strange, and all the media cares to report is his undrafted status.

Now that I have had a day to digest things, let me offer some thoughts about yesterday's game:

1. I loved the defensive game plan. As good as Philip Rivers is supposed to be, I completely agree with the notion of making him beat you. The SD wideouts aren't good enough to sustain 60 minutes of football offensively. Gates had a big game, and they let LT break loose for a big play, but the defense overall did a pretty good job making the CHargers one-dimensional.

2. The resurgence of Bubba Franks continues - if he can stay healthy he's a lethal red zone target. I wrote him off at the end of last year, but it seems like the corpse has awakened.

3. Favre has begun to manage the game very successfully. He is going from wild gunslinger to Trent Dilfer before our eyes. Of course, the short passes resulting from a lack of a running game seem to be helping this quite a bit.

4. The Dallas Cowboys are the team to beat in the NFC.
