3. Clay Buchholz will be working out of the bullpen for the time being. He will only pitch "structured innings," though that definition was left open by manager Terry Francona. Francona would not say whether that meant Buchholz would only pitch clean innings. He may get another start this season, though that is yet to be determined.

We may have seen the last of Mike Timlin then.

no , this means their limiting buchholz's work for the remainder of the season

EDIT: timlin has actually been good this year

Yeah, this way Tito won't burn him early. Buchholz will get the experience he needs with a less risk over injury, etc while in the bullpen. I'm sure he'll start in the rotation in 2008, a possible Schilling or Wakefiled replacement.

If anyone from the bullpen needs to go it's Lopez or Delcarmen. They could be traded off for another pitching prospect or possibly another bat. We're doing quite alright with Timlin, Okajima, Papelbon, and hopefully sooner than later, Gange. And I know we'll need pitchers so they don't all get burned up, but Lopez and Delcarmen pissed me off. They pulled a Gange in the damn 6th inning and s*** the bed. Who's to say they won't f*** that up in the postseason?

Hey you're right, I just noticed that. That's weird. Whenver I read his name I saw it as "Gange". No matter where it was. But since you mentioned it I see it correctly now. That's strange.

But thanks for letting me know.

Kyle Snyder would leave the pen before Lopez or Delcarmen. Tavarez, too.

PS - Delcarmen got out of the mess Lopez started. And Delcarmen's been better than Timlin this year. Besides, one bad outing is not indicative of future happenings.

I still think this is a joke account.

Thats fine. We're going to win the division, and from what I've heard they want him below a set number of innings. Get him some work in some close ballgames and he'll be fine. Is he the only pitcher to be sent to the bullpen right after a no hitter?

Right, so this leaves Gagne, Delcarmen, and possibly both Buchholz and Tavares ahead of him. Add Lopez in lefty situations, and Okajima as the best setup man, and we might not see Timlin throw again. And if he does it probably wouldn't be a very relevant situation. I like Timlin, I just see him getting shuffled further back especially considering how hard he got hit in his last outing.

His numbers are OK, but he's not the same pitcher in terms of his stuff, his innings pitched, and the situations he appeared in. Two years ago he was our best setup man, now he's miles from that. I still feel playing in that World Baseball Classic thing was the death knell to his career.

Delcarmen ERA - 2.45

Delcarmen is coming together this year. He's gonna be valuable for the future. Timlin is surprising many as he is having a good year, but he is done, I don't see him continuing to pitch this well next year. I like our Pen as it is right now. I would really like Buchholz to get another start or 2 though.

I agree, I am betting Buchholz replacing Schilling. Don't know why, thats just my opinion and who I would rather see replaced.

Why?

The bloody suck ENERGIZED the team, and made them play more CONFIDENT, and it SCARED the Yankees into SUBMISSION.

I hope A-Rod never plays here. He is not a dirtdog. I am willing to bet the chemistry Trot Nixon brings, offsets the play of A-Rod. You agree?

 I enjoy your posts.

But seriously, Buchholz should absolutely replace Schilling. I envision Beckett, Matsuzaka, Buchholz, Wakefield, and Lester/Acquisition in the rotation.

That would be one nasty pen... :harhar:

Top prospect in our organization, great in the minors, practically set the world on fire when he was called up. He will be given every oppurtunity to win a starting job out of ST.
