Right now they're way too high. After Notre Dame, they're schedule gets really tough though. We'll see how they do.

they played both teams that played for the acc championship and beat their asses

ucla beat usc last year but outside that game they got manhandled by fla state in the poinsetta bowl and the men of troy just got humiliated by 41 point underdog stanford

they play a maac school which is generally easy but maac schools are much more competetive than in years past and playing army is a joke

11 other schools play army and the irish played them year in and out for 50 years

va tech isnt that good fla state and miami are rebuilding still

maryland is a 2nd rate football program and the nc schools need to keep their kids at home

sec is still premier but id take bc over all of them cept fla and lsu

 

85 scholarships did what it was supposed to do

it made the field a lot more equel than before and with the emergence of the south flas the fla atlantics and the other smaller schools like fla a@m, the state of fla has 10 decent teams and no longer 3 of the top 5 in the nation.....with 2 losses fla is out of the national champ hunt.

 

lsu is king right now

cal and osu deserve their 2-3 ranks and bc at 5-0 (3-0) is sitting pretty till they go to va tech,who they beat 2 years in a row.

Not the toughest of schedules obviously, but it's far from an easy schedule. If they come out of those games still undefeated, they deserve that top-5 ranking.

Oh yeah if they come out of those games undefeated they will totally be legit. But I look at the top 10 and I see maybe 1 team that BC can beat (S. Florida) and they at least have a legit win (W. Virginia). BC does not deserve to be ranked that high when their quality win (Georgia Tech) already has 3 losses this year.

what would you call what stanford did.....john david booty has a nice football name but the fact is hes a 2nd rate qb and has played like it all season.

 

bc has 3 potential all americans on defense and an all american qb

their o line is considered to be top 5 in the nation material as it always is and lets face it...

over the last 5 years tom obrien had them on the cusp of greatness year in and year out but they would always gag away a winnable game in nc state or in atlanta or against f***ing syracuse etc...this year is different

this year theyve beaten all the teams theyre supposed to beat

unlike usc fla oklahoma etc who lost winnable games as double digit favorites.

no one has come close to beating them and they will have to justify this lofty ranking soon enuff...

fla state theyve beaten twice in a row

va tech theyve beaten twice in a row

clemson theyve beaten twice in a row

maryland they beat last year....the year before i dont recall

 

if they win these games then what??

the fact that coaching can be such an incredible difference in football..

pitt hasnt had much of anything since dan marino but they are a big east team that recruits a few parade all americans and is physically much much bigger in every position than navy is

they can run all day if they want and that will win you 99% of your games when you own the line of scrimmage offensively....

navy runs an offense that is ancient and obsolete in big time football

good high school teams can stop a 1st class wishbone if theyre disciplined enuff

pitt cant...bc couldnt last year in the bowl game....i call this the compton factor

From what I understand, the guy can recruit, but he took Pitt from a BCS-caliber team to a joke of a program. Have they ever even been bowl eligible under Wannstedt in his two years there? They're a long shot to make a bowl game this year.

that would give me noon to 330am of nothing but college football and then 7 short hours later its nfl gameday.

its real good being a boston sports fan these days
