 I've always wondered why people hate them like this. Is it because they win so much?

I'll use an SAT analogy for you.

Yankee fans : MLB :: Patriots fans : NFL

I'm not a Pats fan, and I think that analogy is completely untrue. If anything it is...

MFYF : MLB :: Cowboys Fan : NFL

When the Cowboys are good, you will see the Lone Star no matter where you are the in country, just like you see the NY everywhere now.

IMO, Patriots fans think winning is their god given right at this point and nothing they do is ever their fault.

Hence, the Yankee analogy.

I don't get that sense. In fact, given the town and the Sox history, they are as modest as I've seen from a dynasty fanbase. I think they show more appreciation for the good run than most.

Maybe the Pats fans I know are a curious breed.

Actually, I can sort of understand this. I remember around the AFC Championship Game it seemed like I was the only Pats fan that was worried about what the Colts could do to us. I don't think we're THAT thick-headed that you suggest, but at the same time I can understand the sentiment.

I'm a Colts fan, so I have an excuse to hate the Patriots. But I think the casual fan hates the Patriots for 2 reasons. One is that the constantly win, yet have no true superstar (with the exception of Brady, and even some idiots still question if hes really that good. Apparently he needs to win 8 Super Bowls.) The other reason is that teams that always win, regardless of the sport, are usually hated outside of their own fan base. Duke, Notre Dame, USC, Yankees, and Lakers fans can probably tell you about that. So I think thats why most of America hates the Patriots.

I should however admit that while I hate them because they're my team's rival, I do respect the Patriots a lot. I think its impressive how they win without a whole bunch of "superstars". I also find it strange that everyone complains about players playing individiually and for themselves and how no one ever plays as a team, yet the Patriots are a perfect example of team play (this is also applies to the Spurs), yet those same people don't acknowledge it.

The way the Patriots do it is sustainable, which is very rare in the NFL. Most teams build up, have a 2 yr window then go in the shitter. The Pats continually reload and have proven that the system makes the player, and not the other way around. I am hoping that Mangini has brought that to the Jets, because last yr the Jets were an awful team personell wise, but somehow made the playoffs. We'll see. Soon, Belichek will have his "Bill Walsh coaching tree" and his secrets might come out.

But with Belichek goes this franchise. If he does leave in a yr or two which was speculated for a few weeks after the postseason, then he will be the single biggest loss to the franchise.

That's just not true. As long as they keep some fruit from the tree, the system won't change, so the system will continue to do its thing. It's about talent. Walsh installed a great system, then Seifert prospered for 2 SBs in 7 years. Why did that happen? Because ownership and management statyed committed to fielding good talent. It's about the talent. Always has been, always will be.

Agreed, a lot of people look past the other half that stirs the drink, Scott Piloi, both are great player evaluators and bring in the talent neccesary to keep this team in the upper tier of the AFC.

Also about our fans. I can totally understand if we're hated, especially because of how some of our fairweather fans can act. with great success, come douchebag fans who don't know s***.
