Well, first you're saying you can't be excited because Gabbard can't keep pitching like this. Then you're saying he's garnering interest for a trade. Wouldn't GMs also think that he can't keep this up?

If you're inferring Gabbard could be part of a package to fetch Texeira, then I'll listen provided you also aren't sending Buchholz. And honestly, I'd like to think Gabbard/Lester/Moss could get that done at this point, with teams backing off and such. If a deal like that is on the table I'll pack Gabbard's bags for him.

Of course, it'll suck when we face him because he'll completely shut us down.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. Just because Gabbard might never be more than a 5th starter on the Sox doesn't mean a team like Texas couldn't make him a #2 or #3. Different strokes.

I just don't know where Gabbard fits in the future of this club. He is a nice addition for this season, but who knows. EDIT: I think it is so hard to know when you HAVE that Buerhle/Kenny Rogers lefty and when you have Lenny DiNardo. The proof is, more often than not, in the pudding which is a little less secure than I think a 140m payroll team will be comfortable with... again, who knows...

Manny's RBI swing is coming back. He's finding ENORMOUS holes in the defense.

he's pitching great' date=' but if they want Tex they'll have to trade Leater, Bucholz, or Gabbard.[/quote']

I don't think any of these three exclude the other. They may have to trade Lester OR Buchholz AND Gabbard (and Youk or Ellsbury)

Lester + Youk + WMP/Moss? Daniels may take it. Let's remember this is the same GM that gave up Adrian Gonzalez, Chris Young, and Terrmel Sledge for Otsuka, Eaton and some prospect that I can't remember.

Sure he may come back to haunt us, but chances are Lester and Gabbard could do the same. They've showed they can pitch in the majors, Bucholz hasn't.

If Im seeing it correctly, Ellsbury has now been placed on the DL. Wont that exclude his name now in any trade talks for the deadline?

I heard he was on the DL. What exactly happened to him?

Not if he's a PTBNL.
