Rusty Staub (New York Mets) collects his single season record-tying eight consecutive pinch hit in an 8-4 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies.

(I have this baseball calander with interesting facts throughout baseball history. I thought it would be nice to post these facts when they show up on the calander. Might be neat to remember some things. So next time I see something on the calander, I'll post it on that day).

In 1973, I went to Yankee Stadium and watched the Red Sox beat the Yankees in a Double Header 2-1, 1-0. The winning run in the first game was scored by Yaz in the top of the 9th from second base on an attempted double play ball. Sparky Lyle lost game one in relief of Stottlemyre. I think Yaz drove in the only run of the nightcap with a single. Rogelio (we used to call him Roger) Moret hurled the shutout beating Doc Medich (not sure). Moret was a real Yankee-killer. I was at the stadium for two shutouts that he pitched against the Yankees. This date in Red Sox History 1973.

What's your problem? All I'm doing is just bringing some interesting baseball facts here. Does it hurt you that bad that the Yankees are f***ed that you've got to resort to this? Get a f***ing life douchebag.

Whoa. Chill. I'm pretty sure he was just poking fun at the fact that you forgot to post about July 8th. It's okay.

Like I said in my very first post, I'm going off a calender on my wall with facts. There's nothing on July 8th. So if there is, anyone's welcome to share.

Tek-Rod fight' date=' Mueller HR. Nice day 3 years ago.[/quote']

I was listening to WEEI earlier today when Tom Caron was on. I guess his son was at Tek's camp this summer and when it ended, he got to shake his hand. When he came home, the kid was so excited that he bursted out yelling "TODAY I SHOOK THE HAND THAT PUNCHED A-ROD!"

Haha, I was kind of laughing.
