I think Crunch's whole point is this. Neither team has been sharp as a tack re: the recent FA class, so give the petty baiting a rest.

The Angels signing Matthews hasn't turned out all bad for them. Aside from the PR disaster, he has been an above average outfielder. He's a great defensive player and is hitting fairly well.

Yes and how is your $40M track star? You would think for that kind of bank, Pierre would be able to take correct angles on fly balls, have the ability to throw it to second base without 2 hops, beable to make contact with the ball at the plate, have any kind of baseball skill other then speed......

Ya we spent more but atleast we have gotten some production out of our strangled vagina, all you got was a track star pretending to be a baseball player.<_>

Yes, because Drew's career is littered with .730 OPS seasons. Hell, even the most asinine logic says he's good for a productive year every other year. In a 5 year duration, that's good for at least two. Even the window lickers have something on you. That's an accomplishment. You should be proud. Big smile. Big smile.

Lugo vs. Pierre? Edge: Dodgers

or

Schmidt vs. Drew? Edge: Tie

Dodgers 1 Sox 0

How the hell you figure Drew and Schmidt are a tie? Are you retarded? Ya Drew may have missed some games, but last I checked he is still playing an contributing to the team on occasion. Schmidt is done for the season and may never be the same.

If Drew keeps missing games, we will beable to opt out after 3 yrs, thats makes the deal extremely less then the 70M it is now, so basically we got Drew for cheaper then Pierre and will get more out of him even if he is injured.

you're a complete moron if you think Drew and Schmidt are a tie. I'm surprised you can even string together words to form sentences

the dodgers are a 4th or 5th place team in the american league

theres no baiting to do

you cant compare the 2 teams

1 team is the best in baseball with the best 3/4 hitters in 70 years playing together

a team deep in pitching with arguably the best closer in paps and a legit cy candidate in becks

the other??

the other is lucky colorado dropped 8 in a row or theyd be in 4th place

i didnt like the drew deal,i certainly make my feelings known about it

this is a sox discussion board

thats what these things are for, argument, conjecture, what if etc....

if i wanted to discuss the dodgers i would be over there but i dont find the dodgers really worthy of my time outside the occasional asswipe dodger fans who find their way over here for some sadistic reasons im not privy to.

theyre a 2nd rate team in a 3rd world barrios who made a bad deal for an outfielder and a worse deal for a 50M pitcher.

whats your point outside of a feeble attempt at busting balls??

First of all, your haikus are friggin annonying. Ever try writing like a normal person?

You seem to like dicussing the Dodgers more than you would like to admit.

I don't know what 3/4 hitters in 70 years of baseball means, so.....but if your trying to argue that Ortiz and Manny are the best 3/4 combination, certainly not this year, but 200 million dollars can buy a lot.

Deep pitching? Jesus, that's a laugher. Beck, Dice, Oka, Paps. . . . . Dodgers have the deepest pitching in baseball aside from SD.

Lucky the Rox dropped 8 in a row? That's possibly the stupidest thing I've read in my lifetime. I guess you're are lucky a meteor didn't land on your house and crush you.

I certainly wouldn't call the Dodgers deal with Scmidt as bad as the Pierre signing. The Schmidt deal was highly regarded as being a great deal, just turned out he was damaged goods. Sox knew JD is injury prone and still inked him for 5 years. All this talk about protection and what not. As long as he goes through the motions, expect him out there for all 5 years, giving it his best half-assedness. He's not the 5 hole protection for Manny the Sox invested in.

At least the Dodgers got a serviceable lead-off hitter, Lugo sux ass. In all fairness, Pierre should be batting 8th, but he's hitting ~.275/.300/.320 and not ~.190/.250/.280. So, once again:

Sox team ERA is better than the Dodgers (in the AL no less)

Lugo is our #9 hitter. .251/.353/.383 > .275/.300/.320

Red Sox 2 Dodgers 0

Seems like the veneer of cool, calm, and collected from our Dogger fan contingent wears thin pretty quickly when someone baits on their team like they are so fond of doing on ours. Whiny ****s. The whole lot of you have left an imperceptable impression after such grandiose proclaimations of your wit. What a let down.

i'll talk baseball with a cab driver who speaks nothing but hindi

i'll talk baseball with the operator who puts me on hold

i love the game more than any other becuase its unique

ok mr dodger fan

you seem bent on discussing baseball to a certian extent based on your last paragraph

am i typing in haiku format??

i never took poetry after high school but i wasnt privledged to be educated in cali

i apologize sincerly kind sir.....

j schmidt you say

ok

im on record here if you go back to last summer in suggesting we offer the house for the guy

i admit it very openly

i wouldve invested in him before the dice man and i wouldve been sick to watch his collapse this summer...no doubt

all the available arms this offseason none i wanted more than schmidt

this is why i work in the heavy equipment industry and dont have a position in baseball

nothing hurts la more than an absent schmidt, nothing

a guy penciled in for 33-35 starts and 220 ip with 200 ks and a 3.25 era has given you jack s*** and we're into july come sunday

i like dlowe and penny is ok and randy wolf survived the meat grinder that philly is to young arms,he can be effective

the moose broxton is a keeper but i suspect the rest of the pen incuding an untested closer can be had

christ

ho ho tomko is getting meaningful innings as is wuuuuuuudy seanez

2 men the al cast away for a bag of rosin

the nl west was best described by gammons some years back

you build a pitchers ballpark, get some sinker ball pitchers and play defense and you can be competetive.

chavez ravine made millionaires out of some real suck pitchers

chan ho park and pedro astacio come to mind immediatley

i feel the nl west is a competetive league but only amongst themselves

the sox took 2-3 against sdiegos best

dice and becks were simply dominant in that park and the sox arms are better from our #1 to our closer than anything out there in my opinion

a healthy schmidt improves la immensely but you dont have that

you got a guy on the dl with a 50M nut and a lot of questions

and an offense that is rather tame and beatable against good pitching

Because genius child, we have already gotten more out of him this year then Pierre has given you. If he gets injured like you predict we can opt out of the contract after 3 seasons, your stuck with Pierre, you have no chance of opting out, and some GM would have to have the brain power of o maybe yourself to ever take on Pierre in a trade...<_>

You're 100% right. Penny, Lowe, Billingsley, Wolf, etc. are all pieces of s***. Saito is one of the worst closers in the game. Russell Martin has no future. Meanwhile, the mlb should just get rid of the fan voting and put the Red Sox out against the feeble NL in the all star game.

Now go take some parenting lessons from Chris Benoit.

HaHa I can't believe you guys still stand by your Drew and Lugo signings. Just admit it they both suck ass. We tried to warn you, but we were only trolling

I know you and your GM love to punch up numbers in a laptop. How about punching up 5 years $70 Million

Posted

Are you going to take your head out of your ass?

Drew's been hitting lately. Lugo hasn't...and not one person has stood by him while he's sucked. Some people are more patient than others, but aren't making excuses for his poor play.

Now, are you going to contribute something to this board or are you only going to bait us? That Schmidt deal looks very sexy right now. So does that Pierre deal.

drew sucks but not quite as bad as the dodgers

i cant even get excited over arguing about this subject.

when was the last time the nl west was relevant??

a league with colorado san fran sd and the dbax would be amongst the best in the international league but in mlb its a non factor.

you guys dont even matter in the national league.

the dodgers havent mattered in 20 years.

and for the record

your owner frankie 5 angels mccourt owes me rent money going back to march so dont look for any help at the deadline

the man took such a beating over the last 18 months i cant believe he hasnt been found in the trunk of a car at logan airport yet.

lugo blows

wow,youre a deep thinker

but he looks like manny compared to nomar these days.

what happened to nomar outside of being raised in femme ruled socal?

it seems like yesterday he was flexing on the cover of si and now.

well now he looks like hes got the aids virus and is hitting accordingly

whats it like to have your 3 hitter locked in with 2 hrs at the break??

whats it like to have the face of your franchise not being as athletic as his bulldyke wife??

THANKS BEAUTIFUL

randy wolf??

his era is 4.75,do you know how that translates in the big boy league?

derek lowe??

i dont think this f***ing guy wasnt even offered a contract by the american league.

brad penny is having a great year.

hes on pace for 35 starts too!!

that would be a 1st

16-9 last year with a 4.35 era,or about what julian tavares would deliver in the nl.

this year hes a cy young candidate till he goes on the dl in august.

i'll talk baseball with the dead but you dodger fans are essentially f***ing idiots who have no social outlets and appear very very undersexed and angry.

i suspect if i were a dodger fan id be angry too.

sucking is sad

irrelevance is worse

you are both.

chris benoit parenting lessons??

i dont know what this implies outside of how small you are and how much you suffer because of your lack of stature in the real world.

get a grip kiddo

theres someone for everyone out there.

Just excited enough to necro-bump a topic that had been dead for over a week and proceed to unload another one of your classic idiotic 50-line haikus, apparently.

But so long as we're back on-topic...
