2 shutouts in a row is very nice. laughable that the Braves lineup gave up in the 9th going down in order on 6 pitches to Mike f***ing Timlin

Yesssss Sox win, 46-25, back to season high tying 21 games above .500. Sox are 5-1 in their last 6, and have won 8 out of their last 12. I havent seen as many Sox shutouts in a single season thus far in awhile it seems

Julian Tavarez since the start of May has just been f***ing money. This is a guy you dont pull from his pot unless he just has a total breakdown a la Jason Johnson. Lets just keep riding the "Yo-Yo" train

Drew and Crisp are really starting to break out, this is the Crisp I remember seeing play for Cleveland. Our lineup can only get better if he plays to that level

Ortiz/Manny combo are set for cruise control, weather is warming up, watch out opposing pitchers

Onto San Diego

Matsuzaka vs Young

Wakefield vs Maddux

Beckett vs Peavy... anyone else salivating at just the thought of this matchup?

Didnt watch the game but box score looked brilliant. Is Coco finally finding his swing? I've hoped this before and been disapointed each time but its nice to see some pop in his bat. Drew had a nice night maybe hes coming along. Ortiz and Mannt are just warming up, its nice to be through that rough patch.

I'm really looking forward to it...Peavy looks much better than Beckett (even with Beck's nasty season thus far) but he's in the National League. The Padres are a much weaker lineup than Beckett usually faces in the American League...an American League where he's compiled a just-over-3 ERA. Pitching-wise, the edge is definitley to the Padres, but our lineup in Pawtucket is better than San Diego. Should be a good one for sure.

Off topic, but does any defending World Series champion have an excuse not to convert a tie-game, bases loaded, one out situation in the bottom of the ninth into a win against the Kansas City f***ing Royals?

Cards SUCK this season. SUCK.

josh bard was hitting cleanup for a while and they just moved on chicagos barret??

tonite mike cameron is 4 with bard 5

jose cruz jr is hitting 2nd and we cut him last year

that park is built for pitching and runs are a commodity

peavy has great #s but becks dont take a back seat to anyone these days at 10-1 and a dominant 10-1 at that

those west coast teams all play in gigantic parks where the over unders are always 8.5 or under, most of that has to do with the lack of O and the style of play.

we line up better and should handle these guys 2-3 i would think

please

im still paying off a note i took out last fall after detroit gagged in a pathtic forgetable series

jeff weaver turns into koufax

david eckstein wins the mvp and didnt hit a ball over 275 feet

their pitchers made the most incredible errors i have ever seen on a pro team and they did it at the worst moments and they did it frequently

it was as if they tanked on purpose

they won 83 games in the worst league in bball but also showed the world that if you get there you got a pop, even with jeff weaver getting meaningful innings

that might have been the most incoherent post I've ever read.

and this might be the most counter productive post you've ever read.

You know what? JD Drew looks like he's actually having fun. Maybe that's giving him a kick in the ass. How could you not have fun and enjoy being part of this team with Manny' date=' Ortiz, and Pena?[/quote']

Maybe now Schill you will take those Dodger whiners on F@C with a fine grain of salt. They are not only bitter than Drew left the Dodgers but most of what the cowboy is telling you is so full of s*** that I could fertilize my lawn with the crap coming out of his mouth as I will remind him pointedly tomorrow. Just to give you some accurate info on the guy for a change, he drove in 100 runs last year and hit 20 homers. The Dodgers have no one who is going to do that this year. The fact is Drew took the big paycheck but he wanted to play for the Red Sox and not the crybaby Dodgers. Hell, they aren't even the main team in the LA Metropolitan area any more. The Angels passed them years ago.

I've seen Drew smile more so far this year wearing Red Sox red than I did the two years he played out here. And that you can take to the bank.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Cmon Sox youre facing a journey man pitcher named Buddy Carlyle, that name just screams out "Batting Practice"

Tavarez this season on the road in 9 games, 3-2 with a 4.31 ERA

Riverside, quick---what is going on with Taverez? If someone asked me that question I could only shrug and say the guy seems to be in another zone. If he can only keep pitching well for us this year........well, let's keep our fingers crossed that whatever he is drinking is fountain of youth elixirs.

I love how that's the justification for NOT giving Papi the MVP: he doesn't play the field.

He certainly COULD play the field and we all know that.

EX, I've heard all I want to hear from some people who don't know s*** from shinola who maintain that Papi cannot play a decent first base. No, he is no Don Mattingly there but the guy does a good enough job that he should never have to sit again in any inter-league game. Those of us with half-ass memories can recall that he did pretty well in the 2004 WS in St. Louis and made a couple of pretty damn good plays. Well, at least some of us know that.

So this means Drew is out for at least 2 months' date=' right?[/quote']

I'm afraid you've been listening too much to your new Dodger colleagues my friend when in fact, they ought to be listening to you and learning. By now it should be evident that the Dodgers miss Drew more than they want to admit and if you took a look at who they have out there you wouldn't need to listen to them at all. Drew will be just fine for us. BTW, ask them if they would trade places with the Red Sox? They would in a second.

Nice' date=' nice. Good to take 2 of 3 on the road. Offense was ridiculous, that and the pitching was a pile of s***. Hopefully we can continue the success against some very nice pitching against San Diego.[/quote']

Hopefully is right Coco. I'm driving down to San Diego this weekend for the three game series and it would be great to take two of three down there; maybe with some good Schill mojo take them all.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

All three matchups should be classic ones. I'll be down there trying to spread a little of that Schill mojo and my buddy who lives down there told me this afternoon that all the stores he's been in have totally run out of Red Sox hats, shirts, jackets and gear of any kind. They'll be a lot of us down at Petco this weekend. Hopefully we will take the series.

If Coco can hit like he did in Cleveland, then this offense will be one of the best in the leauge. If not it will still be decent with Ortiz and Manny starting to mash like they know how.

You said the key to it all. Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz BOTH have to his up to speed if our offense is going to hit on all cylinders this summer. Drew looks like his funk is over, though the LA Papers this morning are all boasting about how he isn't doing the job for us and how the fans are on his ass. What BS!!! If he malingers or starts missing considerable action because of nagging injuries, yes, we'll all be on his ass but I think he knows better about playing in Boston. As for Crisp, a solid Coco means more hits and runs for our team. I just hope that Pedroia, Youkalis and Lowell keep hitting as they have so far. Then again, with our team we have to sweat it out every game but today it looks pretty good from where I sit. Nice to see Colorado's Rockies helping both themselves and us out.:D :D :D :D :D :D
