Ill start by bringing up my case from Mid-May to bring him up:

Delcarmen could be turning it around:

6.0 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 Ks in his last 4 appearances

I like Delcarmen and despite what his ERA says last year, he looked to be a pretty solid MR. His BABIP was extremely high .385, which explains the 68 hits in 53 innings. His K rates were solid (7.6 K/9), and his walk rate, although not ideal was right around 3, good for a 2.60 K/BB. His FIP was a very solid (3.02) as was his DIPS (3.08). So if he can find himself again he could be a solid bullpen arm sometime later this year.

His last 8 outings:

13.0 IP, 5 hits, 0 ER, 6 BB, 14 K

On the year his K/9 is 11.47, his walk rate is still somewhat high but his stuff is good and he'll be much more effective than Piniero.

so just as he starts putting it together' date=' you want to send him back to ground zero. Got it. If he is finding it, see if it is just a spurt or if he can maintain it.[/quote']

You bring up a very good point about not rushing young talent, you don't want DCM pitching well in AAA for a few weeks bring him up and get hammered in the Majors, like last year...

Like Hansen too, keep them down in AAA for a month or two while there pitching well then bring them up... unless there in dyer need of relief... (with the outings like Timlin's last they may want to consider calling someone up... jk... actually no im not  )

Id say no. He has never shown me anything that says he can get major league hitters out. I think he was also alot worse than his numbers showed last year....he was pretty awful.

and he was incredibly unlucky last year with a with a BABIP through the roof. .385 ouch. Like i said his FIP was good last year (3.02) and his peripherals are good for a rookie pitcher, which leads me to believe he was a better pitcher than his stats indicated. Hes settled into AAA nicely now and I dont see him getting much more out of AAA at this point. Hes a good MR and hes much better than Piniero.
